Some of you may remember my review of the first incarnation of the Aga-T a product I though (despite a few small niggles) to be ground breaking in terms of bringing affordable genesis atomisers to a wider market.

I still stand by the review I gave of that product .. a good looking genesis atty for somewhat less than an ego 1100Mah battery, rather than the cost of a high end mod ... spot on.

This latest incarnation of the Aga attempts (with some success and one new small niggle) to address the issues of the previous incarnation.

So Ill list the major differences to start with ...

1: The top is now a push fit, held (quite securely) in place by two black rubber o-rings
2: The centre post (i believe) is now Stainless Steel .. rather than the unknown metal it was in the previous Aga (not that this made a blind bit of difference to me personally)
3: The wick hole is closer to the centre post (and also slightly smaller)
4: The gnarly turney nuts have been swapped out for smaller nuts ...
5: The top cap seems a lighter and thinner (I guess as a result of making it push fit)
6: Can now be purchased with a pyrex glass tank (mine came for the purpose of review with both a pyrex and polywhatsername tank)

(The Aga T+ on the right .. clearly showing the closer position of the wicking hole to the centre post .. and also the smaller thumb nuts)

So how does it compare?

The Pro's

The Push cap is a welcome and (manufacturers take note: unless you can guarantee your machining .. just use push caps .. screw ons DO NOT work) IMO necessary modification, the glass tank will alleviate all you bananannananananna juice loving peeps worries on cracking, and the slightly lighter weight is nice. There is defo less top coil hot spotting with the closer wick hole positioning and the wick hole itself being slightly smaller has made no difference to my wicking whatsoever .. I'm using the same wick I used in the the first version.

In the main the design hasn't changed a great deal .. so there is not a lot more I can say about its actual performance once set up that I didnt say in my previous review which if you cant be arsed to read it was something along the lines of "unbelievable performance at the price"

The Con's

As has been noted elsewhere, the pyrex tanks that are made for these are somewhat less than top quality finish .. they look like they have been cut off and left .. rather than any finish being applied .. Its small change IMO tho .. and after a good rinse to make sure there were no loose bits of glass .. It has made no difference, there are no leaks .. and you cant see the rough finish once in place. aside from which I think it could be sorted with some fine emery paper (which TBH should have been done at factory). On a more expensive mod this would have done my nut in .. on a sub £20 mod (or there abouts) Im not even giving it a second thought.

My only other concern with this is the decision to replace the larger top thumb nuts with much smaller ones. They are very hard to get your fingers in and turn, in fact I have swapped them for the nuts off my old aga. (note I do have big assed sausage fingers), again tho .. fairly small fry really - Tho in my particular opinion more of a wind up than the glass tank finish.

So would I get another ?

I fully intend to get at least another two in the next few months.

Its taken the already price smashing great performance Aga-T .. and made it even better.... whats not to like?

Yeah it does look like it was made for the Vamo! looks tops!

Cheers for this.
2 questions though please :)
1. Doesn't the wick go in the other hole?
2. Can you get a pic of the underside at all? Just want to see the seal around the centre post and connector.
Cheers

Great review ZT and thanks for the close up. I was watching an American reviewer set it up and it was a while before I realised his video was shot in reverse so the screw arrangement was the opposite of mine. Doh

Cheers for this.

Nope the other hole is only open coz the screw was out for filling .. the wick goes on the hole closest to the screw and post

why do you need to see that!? its sealed with a rubber bung :)

Good write up ZT and really nice photos :)

Very good to see that wick hole closer, should help a lot of folk out with the old hotspots.

Fair enough. So you don't use the post with the screw clamp then or is that for another config?
Well, only because I wonder if it's the same silly bung thing like my genesis thingy and will end up getting overtightened because I am a plum.

The post is (as far as I am aware) for when you do a silica wick ..

I think it would be quite hard to break the connection on this from overtightening .. its very solid
