RTA at 100+w more or less cotton?

If the cotton is overstuffing(tight in) the space you have, it'll expand and clog up the tank, restricting juice flow and you'll get resulting dry hits because it's taking longer for juice to make it's way into up to the coil. If the build is tight before you're vaping it, wick(slightly) less... imho.

Good to know, the build nowbis that it sits fit inside the coil with good resistance almost tight without pulling away the coil when i pull the cotton backwards and forward, and i think the RTA was to hard to close cause the coil ends just above the juice slot so there is not much space for a fluffy cotton without a over-hang, the space is more like a waterfall just just plain straight down without a nice bun, probably thats why the person in this thread was saying remove 1 wrap on each coil, but as i said it will give me to low Ohm :/

Maybe try a higher gauge wire so you can reduce wraps and (if you want to try it) spacing the coils. Every build is an experiment until you know what works and suits your vaping style/frequency/preferences/tank best.

Every build i find i try something a little different, and whilst i've found the ohm range i like most, coil ID and wicking is still a bit 50/50(i'm mostly there, but i keep chucking more variables in making my own time harder).

Same here im experimenting alot with coils atm, have tried both different type of SS wires different gauge regular/twisted, alot of kanthal my favourite in kanthal is Sailing's wire twisted fused Clapton good flavor as N80 and good glouds not that wide and comes out at good ohms 0.2 - 0.3. Tried Volcano wire that wire is useless as dualcoil the wire is about 3mm wide and cant do more than 3 wraps and come out at .15 in single coil ID 3.5 :)

Spacing your builds might offer something, the few non-spaced builds i've ran have run into dry hits sooner. Your builds are certainly way beyond what i'm running(i'm a noobie comparatively), but i've found spaced(whilst more resistance/ohm limiting) let's me hit the vape heavier more frequently. No build is the same, i can't say if this will help you, but it's something you could experiment with i guess. :)

Im a noobie to, i have only vaping for 6 months now and got my RTA in june :) on the kanthal Sailing wire twisted fused clapton i do space maximum 2mm between space, and all other wires ive tried also cause i find it easier that way hot spots etc, exept for volcano and this N80 clapton wire that i use now, i do them compact cause there is no room for spacing them out, they are really super low resistance wire, and probably do best in single coil i think. But this build i did tonight with alot of cotton works very well! I have empty one 5ml tank already and is on my second now. no dry hits no muted flavor no leaking and 110w is not a problem to run at, havent tried higher yet, i feel that im satisied with this even at 85w when its warmed up and could probably go a little higher than 110 if i wanted to, i usually chain vape alot 4-5 puffs in 20 sec for 1 min then pause 20 min and puff again

We're all noobies - I've been building coils for 5 years and I'm still learning, and new stuff comes out too that we don't know about.

I had an issue with the Kylin, as many do, with it leaking, and couldn't get it right. Higher vg juice stopped the leaks but gave dry hits and for a while I gave up on it.

I'm a cotton fiend and I buy every one that comes out, and the latest, Angorabbit, is the best wicking cotton I've used. I have it in the Kylin with 90vg juice at 110 watts with no leaks or dry hits. It may be worth getting some with your next order from China.

Sorry if it's been mentioned but haven't read the thread. Instead of increasing the power - purge instead to allow the coil time to heat up at lower wattage. Instead of inhaling straight away - when you fire the mod, exhale into the tank for a second or two before inhaling. It will allow the coil time to heat up and provide a warmer vape at lower wattage.
