What's new

Rugby match with cardboard spectators

Something new...

Watching a tennis match, no line judges, its being completely called by the hawkeye system hooked up to voices, so if a ball is out hawkeye yells 'out'.

Why the hell hasnt this just been the way its been done all along? No challenge system, no judging disputes.

You CAN NOT be serious! :)

I'm just glad to have a bit of sport back as I've always been a lifelong sports fan. I'm currently enjoying the Olympics rewind and hopefully tomorrow watch Lewis win the Hungarian grand prix.

It was nice to see the Horse Racing back on tv.
But it does lack a bit of character without the usual people milling about, chatting, etc.

You're not wrong. I watched the Arsenal v Man City semi last night at Wembley. Very eerie with no fans and just piped crowd noise but as I'm an Arsenal fan I was pleased with the result.

That'll probably loose me some friends round hear supporting the gooners. :)

It gets better, they are using different voices for what would be the different line judges. At some point it becomes overkill, and i think they,ve reached it.

I watched a football/soccer match though where the fake crowd sound wasnt turned up high, and u could hear the different players shouting stuff to each other. It was the first time i even thought to realize that they do this. I actually enjoyed it more. Personally i think it made it much less boring between goals.
