I have a few Kayfuns which I love and have no trouble building them now. Just got a Russian 91% clone from ft and a lovely thing it is too. It is a little different with much deeper juice channels and a taller chimney. Tried wicking it the same as I would the Kayfuns by just gently poking the cotton down onto the deck and putting the top half of the chimney on. This doesn't seem to work with the Russian. It floods and p#sses out the air hole....Tried blowing through the air hole....but still leaks like mad. Also tried have the wicks in the channels....stopped the leaking but now getting a lot of dry hits as its not wicking properly.

Any ideas?

Not having much luck today....two tanks from ft and can't get either to work....:(

easy answer is don`t bother with anything kayfun/russian 91% related with fasttech i got a so called russian 91% and its now a peice of shit it was good when i got it it wicked up really good and gave me good flavour then for no reason like you it leaks like hell now through the air hole oh and i`ve went through two centre posts since i got it two month ago. i also got a replacement base from fasttech and guess what the air hole is in a completely different place than the other one so i cant adjust the airflow no matter what i do but it was cheap so i cant expect much from it .

Check the O ring at the top of the chimney is doing a good job. Mine kept swelling with some juices and would slide down the chimney and leak, flood and generally be a chunt. I bought some new O rings, it now works well though the severely limited airflow means it only gets used to demonstrate that type of atty to mates interested in starting vaping, .

Thanks for the input....I'm 91% per cent sure it's a wicking issue.....had the same with the Kayfuns until the wick was right. Will have a play. The chimney seems really long compared to the Kayfuns too. You have to push the top over the chimney before you can screw it down.

Wait till you fill it up juice and realise the chimney is still on the table and not in Russian! That's a whole new low I'd rather not find again.

Not 100% true - they have a Kayfun that is fantastic.

I do the opposite of most people and really stuff my Kayfun. Assuming the layout of the Russian is the same, cut the wicks about 1cm too long each side, don't wet them but point them up.

Screw the chimney base on and tuck the ends of the wick down. Wet them well and really stuff them in. Slide a fine screwdriver or similar between the wick and the chimney base and gently pull the wick away from the juice channels. This works for me, I've never had flooding or dry hits.

I do exactly the same and never have a dry hit

Got my 1st kayfun clone yesterday and it's the 1st one I've ever seen in the flesh must say I'm most impressed not sure what makes of clone it is as I got it off a m8 and he didn't say it's a bit naughty even has the svoe mesto logo on it lol but how easy to build and set up I was using a smok rbst before and that is a real fiddle to build and temperamental too but loving the kayfun might have to get a few more the only criticism I have of the one I have is I can't see how the filler works it looks like it has a bung in it but I don't want to try and pull it out or I will be knackered if it don't go in again so am filling it from the top but not been a problem still works well and only cost me £10 and it's unused [emoji4]
