who funded the study? if it was any of the big baccy firms or big pharma, i didnt trust them when i smoked and i dont trust them now. i might want to believe what that study says,in fact id like to believe it. but if any of those people are involved i will take the info with a big fuck of pinch of salt.

To suggest they were "shocked" seems a bit of a reach.

Unfortunately, Ned, that's a double-edged sword ... opponents of vaping will dismiss the research findings for exactly the same reasons. Pre-judging outcomes is not really helping the debate.

all im saying is until we have independent studies me myself will take all others with a pinch of salt,

as soon as i see brand names mentioned in the article i started to read it as an add,my suspicious mind maybe, maybe not.

funny how they tested two brands of ecig made by the same big tobacco company against two brands of real fags made by the two other big tobacco companies

There are plenty of independent studies out there if you go looking for them, but the flip side of not being funded by big pharma or big tobacco is that it can be hard getting published in the big journals. As always Farsalinos is the best of the bunch doing studies that look at the questions vapers really want to know the answers to and not afraid to publish the results whatever they are.
