Shame you don't have a dvarw or a spica, it'd be interesting to hear your opinion on a comparison.

I've a couple of different calix' s and a dvarw and they are different beasts.
Quite different coils required to shine. The dvarw loves a small micro coil where as the calix shines with a spaced coil. Excellent for tc builds and will wick anything.
I like them both.

It vapes fine, good in fact.... it's just the design I'm not loving really ...from a functional point of view. The airflow is just wrong for me and the AFC is loose and horrible and the top fill is .... um, not the most convenient. The JFC is similar to the Skyline and Rose which I'm not a massive fan of either, although I can live with the skyline one. ... but it means the drip tip needs to be really tight and a lot of my preferred ones are too loose.... which yeah, maybe I could change the o-rings around and make my favourite tips work but on a €100 tank it's just another minor irritant. The threaded ultum tank? ..... I think there's better ways of doing it .... like glass and o-rings for example on most other tanks.... the deck is like a worse version of the original hastur, with crummy little flat head screws you have to wind the wire round.... again fine for me in a £25 tank but when I think of 'high end' I expected more and something to make my life easier not more difficult, and it's not the quickest thing to build because of that.

.... these really are minor gripes and if it was a cheap tank I'd be saying that it vapes well and well worth a punt, but to me it feels dated and poorly designed. I'm not sure what the point of it is. It doesn't vape any better than other things I own and worse then many. If I was going to splash the cash on something this expensive I would be looking at SvoeMesto, StattQualm or even the Skyline I mentioned earlier.

Sorry if this upsets 'fans' of the tank or brand but this is how I feel.... maybe I just don't get it but I'm struggling to see what there is to like about it..... It works fine but I don't really have much else positive to add to that and I think it will be getting passed along again pretty soon. :)

Sorry if this upsets

I think it's quite important that the more experienced people voice these kind of views. It lets the newer people understand that a tanks reputation is no guarantee of satisfaction. Underlines my feeling that once you land on the perfect vape for you, just settle on it. No harm in trying out other stuff occasionally though.

for me the Spica and Dvarw are in a different league to the Calix V4. I could never get the vape quality I wanted out of the Calix. It's a bit marmite, you either love it or not. Am not saying it's a bad tank though.

I have to agree with much of what you say. I will go back to mine at some point and give it another go though
