Sig 20 recalled?

You could try a spring from a torch if you have one KMS. But quite a few??? vendors sell hotsprings.

Have you got a multimeter KMS. You need to check the device and the atty to see if they are both live, if yes then best not to use it in anything other than controlled circumstances, i.e. indoors and bear in mind to keep it clear of all that gold that adorns you!

Not adding anything to the above but be interesting to see what Sigelei says

Dear Customer,

Unfortunately it has come to our attention that the replacement Sigelei #20 switch head (that you should have received by now) also has a slight flaw.

Please note: The head will fire on its own if the delrin ring on the top is bridged by anything metallic to the body, while the atomiser is connected.
Please be sure to disconnect the atomiser if carrying it near anything metallic (for example a pocketful of change or a handbag with keys in it).

This issue will only happen in these circumstances, and should otherwise be totally fine.

We have contacted Sigelei about this and are awaiting a response, and will keep you updated.

Our apologies for the inconvenience.

Kind regards,
Toby

I am saying no more on the matter and due to the current political climate I think the whole thread should be wiped. If certain parties were to see this thread it would boost their 'quality issues' claim no end.

I get your drift. I once deleted a photo posted by a member of his 5 year old with an ecig (face palm) for obvious reasons. But notices about recalls etc are essential IMO. :)

I particularly think this thread is very important considering I have 4 of these heads for this mod and if something goes wrong, I want to be able to tell the forum members about it so they have less of a chance of repeating the same thing.

Delete a thread on a faulty product? No thanks. Delete a pic of a child with an ecig, yout betchya!

I understand your worries .. but is it not also important to show that we can and will sort quality issues in our own fasion without any nanny state intervention ?

Now I know the "Moderator" title will be shown on the left here but this reply is really from an E-Cig user and reviewer,
I do understand where youre coming from in all this but it is really a circular argument imho , If this thread (and others like it) was removed , and if one of the units did go critical and caused injury to life or property it would come back and bite us even harder if it was known we had hidden the facts from the consumers , you can picture the scenario...they knew about this but hid the information, clearly they need strong legislation to protect property and life etc etc .

By leaving this thread up we are showing that we CAN and WILL act to alert the consumer where safety is concerned, and that we will actively follow up and post all relevant information that can be garnered from the makers with reference it, and keep people who may be thinking of buying one the information they need in order to make the right decisions / choices as to their purchases.

I know that a few replies have quoted you and said no and that at this point you may feel a little under attack, but please be assured this is not the case, it merely shows we all sing from the same rock concert lyric sheets (better than Hymn sheet imo) and will take whatever action we can to protect the consumer by giving them the information they require as soon as it becomes necessary / available .

I believe you do understand my thinking KT but I don't think KMS does. I'm a firm believer that fora should take more of a lead than they do now in bringing betterment of QC from vendors. Not just because of the Current Union of Nrt Toting Specialists and their sponsors but because there are far too many fly-by-night operations that need to shape up or ship out. They do a disservice to both their fellow vendors and us the customer.

My soul thought was concern should any ferrets working for MHRA, Pharma and Tobacco come upon POTV and see the thread, what wonderful ammunition it would be for them to help validate their pathetic claim of poor QC within the vaping fraternity.

My other thought being that printing such e-mails will a) not encourage decent vendors such as Toby and co to being so helpful, or at least open about it, next time. And b) (who said you can't start a sentence with a conjunction?) we are not talking about just a 'faulty product' here but something that is potentially quite dangerous. A phial of inflammable liquid that is in permanent state of electrical charge on top of a potentially explosive device encased in a permanently charged metal shell. Melodramatic maybe but nonetheless a fact.

Should what nobody wants to happen, happen, it is quite probable the result will require hospitalisation. Invariably the police will become involved along with Trading Standards and inevitably, journalists.

I personally believe the Sig #20 should be recalled but understanding the vendors concerned are small businesses trying to make their way, I think the e-mail should at the least ask the purchaser not to use the device and ask for say a month's grace pending reply from Segelei. Most folk are reasonable enough to acquiesce to such.

Directing this at Toby and the three musketeers, in the spirit of openness of being in this together, I would ask to see a copy of the letter/e-mail you sent to HK to be assured you stressed to Segelei that producing such products, along with their dangerous revisions, is simply not on and inform them of our statutes, laws and controlling bodies. I.e. The Sale of Goods Act, Trading Standards blah blah. Also if they don't know, the current threat to our way of life, we face from those criminals in either/both parliaments.

Here endeth the first lesson. Now praise the lord and pass the biscuits.
