So had my first shot at a hybrid mod and made a few mistakes early on that gave me a very different result from what I was aiming for.
Started out by making the block shorter, it was wide so thought it would work well.
That was tm where it all started, I wasn't too tidy with my cut as I planned to sand it flush and and fit a steel plate for the 510
Then when hollowing out the front (again to have a plate over it) I was a bit too eager and split a big chunk off the front.
I was not happy, but I tried to fix it with some clear resin but after I did and went back to work it just cracked out again.
I needed to totaly change the orientation of my build because of it, now I had to replace the top section I removed and mount the board between the battery tubes and the 510, which proved to be far to tight to fit.
Anyways I had used a Stabwood blank to make some panels for a bb im never going to get fixed and had an idea.
It wasn't going to be clean or perfect but I could fix my problems.
I used the remaining wood to piece together a faceplate and an extension on the bottom of the mod, giving me that last few mm I needed.
So I got this in the end, nothing like what I planned, but still something I'm happy with.
I am thinking of ways to clean up the joints I ended up with, and haven't finished sanding it yet until I decide how/if I will get round it.
Edit - did not realise I took the pics before fitting that last screw
