Sorry to hijack this thread, but seeing as its already about the tfv8 rba, wtf is up with these things? I have 2 of them, one i purchased separately the other i got in the box with the big baby beast, all was fine with both for ages and now all i get is constant ohm hopping and shorts, its not the insulators, ive had both rba's in kit form and both should work fine, but dont, baffled is an understatement.

To rule stuff out, i havent been putting builds in too low for my alien, i usually hover aroumd the .3-5 ohm mark

Anyone got any ideas or having any similar problems?
Im using the rba's on alien 220w, firmware version is 1.2.2 which to the best of my knowledge is the latest firemware.

Thanks.
Have you checked it on another mod yet to see if the ohms are jumping about still ? as if it works ok on another mod then you can suspect the alien mod playing up and obviously, if the rba behaves the same on another mod , then you can put it down to the rba. ATB

Hi, yeah now charging up an my coolfire box mod to try it on that, i have been suspecting my alien mod to be honest, its not been 100% since i updated the firmware about 2 months ago

oh ok , take it the coils aren't touching the rba cover and that the screws are very tight on the installed coils ?

Na, ive actually seen the results of coils touching the inner side of the cover cap, i have a big black burn mark from my 1st build on my 1st rba haha.
No, builds are good and nothing is touching where it shouldnt, i just cannot fathom this out, the only thing i can think of is maybe the posts are arcing through the insolator, the insolators are not peek, just some kind of see through brown material, looks very very cheap

Grab the bottom of the rba deck and screw it tight had same problem gave that a good tighten no problems the bit at the bottom holds the positive in if its the same as the big 1 if it's even slightly lose it jumps and won't fire

Hi, yea

Hi, yeah il give that a try, although these dont actually screw together as such, you can get them apart but they are press fitted with a kind of toothed recess if that makes any sense, not threads but splines, a bit like the splines on a car axle, i will try to get it tighter though, thanks.

I shall post my findings later on

I may have found a fix for the RBA shorting issue, got some more pratting around to do but if it works im probably gonna do a youtube vid for it
