We've gone live with our sms despatch messages so all of you that have a mobile number on file with stealthvape.co.uk or on your ebay account and get bit's through our ebay store will get a despatch notification by text.

This free service is only available to UK customers at present while we test out the international side of things. Sadly, USA customers won't ever get these messages as there's no way to tell if USA numbers are mobile / cellular or landlines due to the way their numbers are formed. Most other countries have a sensible prefix to easily tell apart mobile numbers so in time every country will be included.

Also, if you've chosen a tracked service you'll get a nice clickable link that will take you to Royal Mail's website with the tracking info pre filled and on the page.

Tadaaaa :)

I bet getting that working has caused some swearing ay Rob?

I hope it wasnt too too much. An sms gateway rental bundle, and some loops when an order status changes to POST a url is one simple enough way to do it. Not belittling your efforts, I think you are the first UK vendor I have heard doing this, so kudos, but I dont think a job like this would be £1000 to do.

speaking also from experience .. doing it yourself the theory is as you say easy enough .. but its the knowledge to do it that you pay for.

its like plastering .. you can spend 4 days plastering a room yourself and have .. errr ok results .. or you can pay a plasterer a wedge to do it well in a few hours

I'm better at plastering than I am at anything to do with programming. One ruins my body, the other hurts my brain lol

The concept seemed complicated to me, but programmers think differently. It was simple but time consuming according to the dude. The main thing was separating landlines from mobiles for different countries and taking into account people sometimes using country codes, some times a +, a 00, dashes in their numbers and so on. Then this had to be done by the guys that work for the company that makes the order management sw. It works on ebay orders too and will on amazon if I get round to listing stuff there. On a side note, I'm not convinced that vape related stuff would sell well on amazon though and their fees seem to make ebay look cheap at a glance.
