It seems to fire a little slow, but I think that's because the batterys need a charge.

I'm used to working with copper, but I assure you the insides don't look as tidy soldering the switch was one of the most frustrating things I've done lately.

Nice work!

I had been thinking of doing something similar, as I have tons of 22mm fittings around. How have you constructed the switch- I guess that was the tricky part?

How are you getting/going to keep a decent grip on the fittings, I guess you are soldering some bits together?

Didn't solder the fittings I used epoxy resin, only soldered the electrical connections and the 510 connector into the cap on the end
The cap on the bottem just pushes on, trick is to very slightly oval the cap with a pair of grips or pliers, and it just stays in place until you pull it off.

Yea the switch was tricky, the one I used fixed from the outside, once I made the connections, just had to carefully persuade it through the hole in the coupling, then epoxied the fittings together.
22mm tube seems to be perfect for 18650's

I burnt out 2 irons(fortunately ancient)soldering up my copper brake pipe"wires" on my box mods. The pipe just was supposed to conduct electricity well, not the bloody heat as well. I've now got a new iron, and it does a great job of soldering brake pipe+strip to hold 510 connections whilst still in situ against a metal box:P
It is still time consuming though, so I've been putting off converting another box to pipe wiring, as the 14AWG is doing okay.

I like this. You've used what you could get your hands on with minimum tools. A real rat mod. Excellent work :-)
