Last year, Ardingly, Sussex was the first college is Europe to produce a solar powered car, and race it across the outback of Australia in the 'World Solar Challenge' . The aim of the event is to push forward the research into solar powered cars, in hope that one day they can become a consumer product.
Over the next two years Ardingly College will be developing a new car for various solar powered events across the world. Backed by names such as Mclaren, DHL, Cambridge University, Mitsuba....and Fogstar.
We were contacted by Ardingly last month, and we are now proud sponsors of the project. We are supplying 2000 high capacity Sanyo cells (As you can imagine, capacity to weight is everything).
We wish them the best of luck!
Just thought I'd share some positive lithium cell news for once haha
