Hey guys, new to the forum.

Looking for some basic RDA info for a complete noob. I just dunno where to start.

I vape mostly sweet liquid which does an absolute number on most coils I've used over the past year or so. I've had a couple of smaller mods and pens as a second mod, however the small coils just get clogged crazy fast meaning they're pretty much useless to me. Currently my Uwell Valyrian holds up OK - I'm looking at about 3-4 days of good flavour before it tails off and then at the week mark I'm replacing.

So I wanna try an RDA, as I've heard not only is the flavour next level but the cost of coiling it is a little less too. I don't mind faffing around re-wicking and cleaning/replacing the coil wire. I just don't know where to begin in terms of what coils to use.

My Valyrian is 0.15 ohms, am I aiming for around that number? How far up in ohms is normal? I'll probably be getting a new mod for it, probably a Voopoo Drag. I'm just unsure of ohms to be honest...

Any help would be most welcome guys.

Cheers

To start with go simple with single wire aim for about 0.4 - 0.6 ohm

Try kanthanl, stainless steel ss316, etc

Once you now what material you prefer than look at a simple Clapton, then a fused Clapton. Coil choice comes down to what eliquid and what rda as the same coil in two rda’s can be different in how the flavour comes through.

If you want a simple RDA to start with go with the wasp RDA super easy to wick and good flavour

Ohms wise I prefer 0.4 on a single I would make the same coils for dual coil giving me 0.2 ohms.

I used to use 0.17 ohm stock coils but in rdas or rtas then I prefer 0.4 if single coil

Thanks man. I heard the Wasp was a good starter too.

I find rdas where the coils are closer to your mouth give really good flavour such as the dead rabbit and drop. They are really easy to coil and wick too. The goon is also good. I usually go for 0.17ohm to 0.4. I also do temp control which gives a consistent vape. I use ss316l wire I don't like kanthal or ni200. ss430 and ni80 are good to although ni80 not for temp control
