SOUBRY & EU SCRUTINY COMMITTEE - Debate decided.
I've just found out that the House of Commons EU Scrutiny committee held a meeting on the 4th September and they have recommended a debate, not though in the House of Commons, but with a side committee at the House of Lords under external affairs!! . Full transcript here:

European Scrutiny Committee Meeting summary: 4 September 2013

The Committee considered a large batch of documents this week in its first meeting since the summer recess.

Tobacco Products Directive
The Committee held an oral evidence session with the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Public Health, Anna Soubry MP, in July on the scrutiny override connected with this Directive. This week we review further information supplied by the Department of Health in the light of the evidence session, and recommend the Draft Directive for debate in European Committee C. We ask the Minister to provide a summary of the key changes to the Directive sought by the European Parliament, and the Government’s position on them, before that debate takes place.

The people we now need to write to?

Membership
Chairman: L. Tugendhat
L. Foulkes of Cumnock, L. Trimble, B. Young of
Hornsey
Co-opted Members: B. Bonham-Carter of Yarnbury,
B. Coussins, B. Henig, L. Jopling, L. Lamont of Lerwick,
L. Maclennan of Rogart, B. Quinn, L. Radice,
E. Sandwich

Not yet done any research on any of them, but this looks very much like a potential shafting - bearing in mind that the Lords actually agreed to Soubry's request to overide scrutiny. Also the comm members won't be elected representatives.

Edit: list of committee members found here

Believe it or not, I (yes.. me, the cynical old cowbag) actually went so far as to email lord Tugenhardt's office to seek assurance that his vice presidency of the British Lung Foundation wouldn't create a conflict of interest or prejudice his views on vaping.

I have received a reply stating that his committee has no involvement in the TPD. Make of that what you will.
