Spain patient gets pneumonia by e-cigarettes

1; " was admitted in the northwestern city of A Coruna for a separate illness and came down with the lung complaint while there"
.

So, your average, common or garden Hospital Aquired Infection then? FFS, I bet there are LOADS of vapers who have been admitted to hospital with 'separate illnesses' and have gone on to develop pneumonia.. or MRSA.. or C.Diff... funny how the MRSA and C.diff don't get attributed to vaping isn't it?! I also guarantee there are smokers who have developed pneumonia whilst in hosptial, and, hold the front page I suspect there may even be people who neither smoke OR vape who have developed pneumonia in hospital... though of course *that* won't be anything to do with the hospital's poor infection control procedures either, it'll be because somebody somewhere within 5 miles was vaping.... grrrrrrrrrr!!!

whilst I hope the person is fine, two things stand out to me.

1; " was admitted in the northwestern city of A Coruna for a separate illness and came down with the lung complaint while there"
Sorry this line comes across as suspicious to me.

2; "The disease was caused by a vegetable-based ingredient in the replaceable cartridges "
This line, is important to all users. We NEED TO KNOW what it was, and how it got there. And that's not to pass blame or go vendor bashing. It's so we all know what to avoid, and in turn, inform the masses.
1..Yes how does one use a ecig too much while in hospital, pretty sure its banned in all hospitals across europe by now
2..Vegetable glycerol..vg..its in 99% of eliquid

aaaaaaaaaaand this is probably a case of every sniffle and cough being blamed on ecigs.
True look at today with regular smokers, if you are a smoker or an ex-smoker and get ill with anything its because you smoke doesnt matter that you lived in chernobyl eating crops you grew there while drinking from the rivers your cancer is definitely becuase you smoke, same is now going to happen with ecigs.

2..Vegetable glycerol..vg..its in 99% of eliquid

As in the linked article above by Dr Farsalinos, "That will remind them that glycerol is an ALCOHOL, not a lipid. Therefore it is absolutely impossible that glycerol can cause lipoid pneumonia, even if it is aspirated in liquid form! That would violate basic chemistry laws!!"
Query some other vegetable-based ingredient.
