Did a quick comparison before I picked up a couple cheapish squonkers. Ended up going for the VV Pulse and GV Athena.

That's a really useful chart, thanks!

Sorry to revive a week old thread, but have you received the Pulse yet? Have been toying with the idea of picking one up and they are around £20 on FT currently

Yup. No problem.

I'm finding the Pulse a very good entry level squonker. It does have a slight plastic-y feel to it, but not flimsy. If you really value something feeling 'solid' then I suggest the second run of the GV Athena (made of metal).

The 'lock' function which is a switch that disengages the fire button is a function that I really like. You will lose a little voltage as it's another connection that has to be made, but for most this won't be noticeable. (Some have mentioned 'pinching' the switch that makes the connection, to make the connection tighter)

Haven't tried using 20700 batteries, just 18650's so can't comment. Sony VTC5A's are working well.

I think it will probably suit me well, will be my first foray into mech squonkers so want to keep the cost down, and not confident enough about going down the clone route just now!

The capacity for 20700 was a good selling point for me, that extra battery life and capacity will be really useful. Think I may take the plunge, and if I get on well with it (and get the inevitable urge to buy another mod) I can maybe invest some more money on a more luxurious feeling mod
