Steeping

I've bought a number of Ace Vapers organic liquids which require a nice long steep, and I simply put them in the "juice drawer" for two weeks - lids on, and then start using them. They mellow absolutely beautifully!

There's also a side discussion going on here about steeping, which I am loathed to move as it is a continuing discussion on a theme - but have a look and Bryan123456 has explained things in detail... :D

That's about the same as leaving the lid on :)
Well in that case I'll change my answer to "I leave the lids on and stick them in the airing cupboard for a week" :) I kind of thought that the air hole might allow enough air in without all the dust and other crap that seems to be in my airing cupboard. For some reason my OH thinks the airing cupboard is actually an extension of his tool sheds and not a place to keep the spare towels and bedding!!!

Bryan123456 thanks! That explains why some of my flavours haven't really been improving or getting more flavourful ( that's a word right? ) :-)

A bit of air space in a bottle always helps a steep. I like to ensure there's at least 30% air in the bottle. You notice with some juices as you use them that the colour changes in the bottle - that's oxidisation - and best experienced from the beginning.

You know, in the space of an hour, between this thread and the other one Bryan123456 has explained everything that has happened to my "Frog" juice which turned into a "handsome prince" just by being ignored for a few weeks! It went from slightly off clear to a beautiful orange and changed from almost citrus sharp to sweet and "chewable"(!) and now I know why. What I have learned is now part of the manufacturing process! :2thumbsup:

Thanks a million Bryan.

Thanks a million Bryan.

It's an amazing process isn't it?!
I've found (as reviewers have recommended) that steeping the capella flavours for a week makes a huge difference. Science at work I suppose!

I think I will just experiment a bit with new juices, try it as is, then leave it a while and try it again and see what works best for me.
