Hi all,

I know sweeteners are the prime cause for coil gunking but I am at the point where i'm rewicking after only a day, or at times hours. If anyone has a good recipe or can recommend any pre-made or one shots they've had good experience with that would be a help. I'm quite prepared to wick weekly or even twice weekly but daily is a PITA.

hopefully someone can recommend a DIY recipe or similar.

cheers,
Al

Oneshot concentrates that I have found to be good without the need for excessive wicking are.
Cotswold Vapours Strawberry Delight ( mixshop or Chefs Flavour )
Lemon Meringue ( Bigjuiceuk )
Rhubarb Cuddle ( Decadent Vapours )

Most of the FA flavours are quite friendly with coils. None of them that I’ve tried have been bad coil gunkers.

Many thanks!

I do like the DV concentrates generally and have only ever come across one I outright disliked, so i'll add these to my list of to try.

thanks for taking the time to reply- it's much appreciated especially as I am going through a custard/cereal phase and my recipes and one shots seem to be gunking horrendously..
I've learned not to vape at high temps, not to pull long drags and to make sure wicks are not drying out but still, I'm wicking far too often.

I've got a fair few FA concentrates on hand so I will look closer at recipes - thanks for replying!

Just to update briefly,

After reading a fair amount online about coils gunking I decided to change my wicking material.
I've been using Youde UD organic Japanese cotton almost exclusively recently and decided to break open a new pack of cotton bacon v2 which I had bought sometime ago but had forgotten about it..

Well the difference has been significant, not to mention the taste been cleaner with zero break in time and I do mean from the first pull. The gunk has also very much been reduced. It just goes to show that a few quid extra goes a long way. I will continue to look at wicking options and will likely try some new products but to be honest the cotton bacon is way and above the best material I've used up until now and I'm kicking myself for not using it sooner. Try it if you've had or having coils that gunk up, I'll bet it improves.

That's good to hear. I've tried a few different cottons including some of the more expensive one's but bacon v2 suit's me the best so thats all I use now.

Which of the expensive wicking materials have you tried? I'm looking to try a few and expense doesn't always guarantee the best or value. There' a lot to be said for you get what you pay for but there's just as much to be said for a fool and his money is easily parted..etc. I'm quite prepared to invest in quality material but no point in throwing money needlessly.
