Looking to get some sweetener and was wondering if there is any difference between the brands?
Cheers All

i've got em(ethyl maltol) and pa sweetener
dont know what the pa stuff is...seems likely it's sucralose...seems to be just a straight sweetener.
em is more a candy floss thing...too much just swamps everything else, regardless of whats in there.
it also rounds off sharp stuff so handy for fruits, not so handy for custards.

I've got some em and as a complete newbie I've been scouring this forum for any tips I can get and seen sweetener mentioned a lot. Also seen some unflattering comments regarding em. I want to get some sweetener to compare with em on a few mixes.and make my own decision on what my taste buds might prefer.
Thanks for the input twoeyedbob

em's fine at upto 2 (possibly 3)drops per 10ml...
4 drops will wipe out your other flavours with candy flossiness...
I'm using 1drop em and two thirds drop sweetener per 10ml ...
Gonna go 1+1 for next mix though depending on flavourings.
Probably switch to sweetener only for custards/creams

Personally i have a real aversion to sucrose, leaves a foul taste in my mouth. I've had a couple of bottles that have destroyed any flavour as the sweetner has overpowered them

Sounds like a plan @ twoeyedbob I think that's where I'm heading. A few smaller batches with different levels of each in to try and get a feel for it.
Jugg1es which brand did you use and what sort of juices/ratio did you try. Do you find the juices you make do not need it?

Have you read the concentrate reviews here? There's some useful stuff on additives.

Thanks @Srumpox. No I had not read the concentrate reviews. So much helpful info on there. Now subscribed to that as well. Going to order some sweetener and more concentrates today. This will work out cheaper in the end right....

That's the theory ... well, I stopped buying pre-made juice a couple of weeks ago which really forces the issue. Vape what you make or suffer!

Actually I've had some success. I've got 2-3 months of juice done, am vaping merrily on the first batches and have more concentrate on the way. The cost savings are outstanding but the potential to waste money on speculative concentrate is clearly there. Need to stay focused.

The fun is going to be working out exactly what each of the additives - ethyl maltol, sweetener, Dirty Neutral Base and Vape Wizard - actually does to the juices. Do they rescue an average juice, do they turn a good juice into something better ...? Have to be patient with steeping and the trials.

Concentrate swaps might be a good idea ... the chance to move on 8 or 9 ml of concentrate that doesn't work for one but might work for another. I bet every home brewer has bottles lying around that they won't use again but someone else might want to try.
