Taifun GT- How F***in hard can it be?!!!

OK, bear with me, I'm a girl, and a pretty useless one at that.... but seriously WTF....???!!!

Got an Aqua, re-wicked it several times now, no problems, gettting 1.5- 1.9 ohms every time, works first time every time- no issues at all.

Did some research, asked some questions, watched some reviews... decided to 'treat' myself to a Taifun GT (clone, of course ) got it delivered this morning (VapeGeek rule!)

Whoop! Thinks me, this isn't going to be hard, I'll have it up and running in no time- watched another couple of reviews and how to's on YouTube, just to be sure I *thought* I knew what I was doing....

2 strands of 3mm silica and 3 wraps of 0.2 kanthal, looking good, tested on OHM meter- 1.6- great, should work on my Zmax then, shouldn't it? Shouldn't it??? The Aqua does....

Nope, chuck it on the Zmax, check to see if it's all lighting up and doing it's stuff... nope, nothing, nada, zilch... and it's showing 9.9ohms, which obviously indicates a fault.

So, I've re-done it about twelve times now, I'm running out of silica and wire, and I'm getting the same thing every time- all seems fine, OHM meter reading OK, between 1.4 and 1.8 every time.... put it on the Zmax and NOTHING.

I've tried everything I can think of, including re-wicking the Aqua again to make sure it's not a) me having a shite day or b) the Zmax playing up- Aqua fine, first time, again... which is all very well, but I wanna play with my Taifun!!

Is it me folks? Am I missing something fundamental, like it just won't work on the Zmax... and if not, why not?

Not a happy bunny here... feckin' thing very nearly ended up out the window and in the fishpond earlier!

it could be that the taifun does not connect properly onto the connection on the zmax. I have had that a few times myself on other devices (vamo and sid) that certain atties didn't connect properly to the device.

Thanks Clonfuddled, I did think of that and had a play with the screw on the bottom on the connector, but in or out, up or down, makes no difference May just 'not fit' at all I guess!

It hould fit and should work. when you wicked it did you just take the base onto the zmax or did you put the other parts on ? just thinking a short might have happened (just thinking out loud)

Have you tried a 510 adaprtor on there (just to rule out the connection completely) sounds crazy but again have had the strange "we don't want to work atties" and put them in an adapter and they work.

Clonfuddled- tried both just the base and all put together- same result!
mrteatime, actually, yes, I did!! I also tried hitting it with a hammer....

Metal air tube on gt not touching coil? Wire strands touching chimney? Funnily enough I done my gt earlier, decided to try it without centre tube doh bit of a flood!

Clonfuddled- you are a feckin' genius, thank you- 510 connector= works perfectly! Looks like shit, but hell, it works!!! Whoop!

Now I just have to hope that the birthday present AndyC1971 has ordered me turns up soon... I'm sure it'll look MUCH better on a DNA20

Oh yeah, it's working, and I've fogged up the front room with vapour already! Whoop! Taste is AWESOME!!!

What pisses me off is I bet ever damn one of my builds was fine! LOL!
