Looking for a nice cheap temperature control chipset for a mod I want to build . I know SV do the 25w evolve chip but does anyone know of another alternative. I wouldn't be bothered if I had to buy a cheap China mod just to salvage the chip from it.

I am waiting for this to turn up next week.....£23.98 for a 50Watt TC board!

High quality 50W box mod chips with Reverse Connection Protection vs yihi sx350 vs DNA40-in Consumer Electronics on Aliexpress.com | Alibaba Group

The Evolvs are the only really good boards available IMO, DNA25 or 40 for very small mods or DNA200 is still very compact, I just built one and it only takes 18 x 10.3 x 71 mm room inside a box with 1.6 mm walls like a Hammond, a bit less with thicker walls, the 950 mAh LiPo is only is 72x25x20. The YiHi SX350Js are bigger, more expensive, only a ODA warranty, have really strange pulse frequency modulated output and don't seem to monitor the temp in real time, by reports they just measure R twice a second between pulses, I had one and it was about 150 F out with the temp sensing.

And avoid Fat Daddy connectors for temp control, best ATM are the VariTubes with either a stretched spring or replacing the spring with a harder one.

What's the issue with the FDV 510 's?

Just reading a lot of threads on building temp limiting mods they seem to be less constant then the VariTubes, some blame the spring and some IIRC smaller surface area on the positive pin on the later versions. Personally I think they are way too big and make your life harder fitting everything in the box, but nothings perfect the VT are easy to cross thread the insulator. Evolv made a much better and shorter connector for the DNA200 beta mod and have made the design open source so hopefully someone will start making them. I did see someone ask on the DNA300 early adopters forum where they could get then and John said we have some how many do you want, but I doubt they will be cheap

YiHi SX350J.. 70/150w depending on Battery Config. Does PWM in TC, but I've not noticed any issues with it, need to get the DNA200 Built and go from there.
