Arctic fox vs Escribe- cheaper boards and near DNA performance?

The cut off on the YIHI is 3.25v (or 6.50v for two batteries). It has that info on the screen (how much voltage remains).

I honestly don't know the reason why. I don't know if the YIHI is better at adjusting for the two batteries.

I have been thinking though and the only thing I can think of is that I vape at really low wattage, very rarely over 10 watts. On the YIHI the TC is measured in terms of Joules and I thought Joules equalled watts. The YIHI won't let me go any lower than 10 Joules so I vaped at 10 Watts on the Top Gear.

Maybe that is the difference, possibly 10 Joules is less than 10 watts.

There is a power mode on the VSticking and the Top Gear, so I will maybe try 10 watts on each mod in power mode and see what happens then.
I see, I doubt it is the cutoff voltage then making the difference, as 4.25V is fairly conservative.

That could make a big difference not being a high power user, do you vape MTL at 10 Watts? Yes I remember it being in Joules on those mods, 1 Joule is equal to 1 Watt per second, or to be more confusing 1A passing through 1 Ohm of resistance per second.

If TC is working well for you and you get great battery life I wouldn't bother changing anything, sometimes it is best to stick with what works.

What build are you using and what RTA?

Is this one of Yihi's higher end boards? Where I haven't been active in so long I remember when the 350J was the high end board made by them?
For £21.99 that is a steal!

His words, not mine so I shouldn't comment. I don't think I've ever really heard temp protection spoken of by the masses and TC just stuck. IIRC the latest SXMini G class have what I would call Temp Control where one can have a setup similar to Power curves, but with temps.
I respect that you don't want to comment on that where it is his words and not yours. I think you are right and the label TC just stuck even though it wasn't marketed as such.
That sounds interesting, I will have to check out the latest G class, I am hoping it looks nice and is not an ugly mod. I wish it was possible to buy Yihi's high end boards in mods that were more plain like a lot of the older DNA200's, just a plain black box mod would do me nicely with their high end board to see what I think.

The closest I got was with a SX350J clone board, I believe I bought it off of a past forum member on here that is now banned.

I used the Dead Rabbit V3 2024 edition RTA to test them. The coils I use are premade sea wolf 316L coils so they all read the same - about 0.8.

I don't really like MTL that is why I can't get away with a Billet Box, the RBA's always seem like a tight draw to me. I would say I vape maybe restricted DTL mostly.

Like I said I made it as similar as possible but it wasn't a test under lab conditions or anything and the results are more anecdotal than anything else but the difference was so noticeable. You are spot on when you say it is best to stick with what works. Words to live by.

Wow, thats a completely different setup than I expected where you vape at 10W and under! I am interested in these coils now, do you have a link?

Something that is restricted DTL and only requires that power sounds great! I imagine if a billet box set to a DTL setup being too tight a draw it isn't that restricted what you are using.

No, but I take your word for it, I do remember some of my mods having much better battery life than others, although I can't remember which ones now lol.

I am not sure they sell them anymore. I got them from Fasttech years ago. They are 100 coils in box so they have lasted a long time. I usually get a week's use out of one coil. I am down to my last two boxes now though.

And what kind of coils were they again, or are they premade roundwire coils? As getting them to work at just 10W is insane I am impressed!

Premade (see pic). They are 316L steel coils by Sea Wolf. I think they were no more than $5 a box and each box had 100 coils.

Punch and pre heat settings are either low or turned off as well but lower wattage is better for these coils. Cooler vape no doubt but plenty of clouds.

A game changer for me, was the Replay function on the DNA C boards. Find a good vape in wattage mode, then hit Replay. Sorted. No mucking about. Obviously you have to use TC wire.
