What's new

Tester wanted for: SERIES B DNA 75 (new sandstorm 25mm version)

The kanger wasn't so lucky. Once picked in it would need me to grind the clasp out. Just not worth the effort as Mrs kid's logic says once it doesn't work right once it's dead to her, lol.
But most who buy these things aren't like us. They need something that just works and I'd wager they sell more DNA mods to folk who just want the best they have to avoid issues later. They will probably never use most of the features and it will be judged on its ability to keep going and not give any issue's.
It's only us weirdos who like to tinker.

Totally agree, we are odd if we like to tinker, most users just want it to work with the knowledge that they can tinker if they really wish somewhere down the line. The magnet thing would be incredibly annoying for a standard user and I'm glad we caught it. The S22 group also managed to catch a small issue with the button tolerance and we managed to fix that as well, prior to main production, so jobs a good'un for both groups, plus we got lots or real user feedback on our design, and continue to do so from users that have carried on with the devices. I would also like to revisit these threads in 4 months or so, to see properly how devices have faired, and make sure our builds are holding up.

Hello Andy and all
Filled my form last week but forget to mention the magnet issue as I thought that it had already been mentioned enough.
My top magnet came out around 2 weeks ago, then last night the bottom one released itself.
Both magnets were on the mod rather than cover so perhaps it was a heat issue that weaker the glue.
Other than that,
what a fucking top device this is.
Cannot find any fault with it.
Top work

That actually looks pretty good in the photos, are you happy with the finish and fit? May be we should list them on our site. Is that the 22mm skin or do they actually have a 25mm version up already.
I'm very happy with the fit (it's perfect around the buttons and door) and finish - except a couple of foreign objects which somehow managed to get under there! - though it is only the 22mm version; this really isn't apparent unless a smaller than 25mm attie is used or when looking at the base -- the wrap is stretchy enough to reach around the back, though this was a bit tricky and took a good few tries (and it's still a bit wonky)! I just wish I'd caught their 20% off sale last week [emoji1]
Ps
Although the wrap looks really good,I much prefer the original finish
Me too! I was tempted by the Brushed Silver and Brushed Titanium (among others!) but wasn't sure whether either would match so just went for something patterned as I know from experience that patterns hide mistakes better than plain colours [emoji6]

I've just ordered the super hero's one and the Black Leather to try it on just the battery door, as we had this as an option when we first did it.

@JAC Vapour hi Andy, ive been having some problems with mine today. the resistance kept jumping all over the place, just had a look at the 510 and the pin is stuck down. is there a way to push it back up from the underside? cheers mate.

you can unscrew it from the top (the 2 Phillips screws) then the top will pull off and you'll get to the base of the positive pin. If it goes wrong I'll replace it, so don't fret too much.

Happy days. Will have a look later, thanks mate

Ok, I've pulled the top off and managed to push the back up from the bottom but as soon as I screw a tank on it sticks down again. Is there something I'm not doing that I should be or is the connector goosed?
Cheers
