TFA - champagne type for fizz?

Anyone tried to use TFA champagne for a fizzy effect/taste?

I've tried with several different %'s and no fizz effect whatsoever. I get a strange grape like starchy taste.
 
Tried it at 0.5, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5% (all different 10ml samples).

All taste horrible, and more % = more intense horrible.
 
You trying it on its own? Thats proberbly your problem, you use tiny amounts to get slight fizz with no taste
 
Ive tried it with mixes too.

The pink lemonade recipe on this site (which is also on a few other sites) someone recommends 0.5% to give it that fizz taste - it is anything but fizz.
