Decided to try my hand at rebuildable coils. Going to get a v12 prince rba deck off fleabay. My issue is where would i get cotton and pre coiled wire from. And what sort of coil do i need. Strip, step etc. I have no clue how to build coils so any guide links/advice is most welcome

Just have a look on YouTube mate, plenty of videos showing you how. If you get stuck on any element post back on here with what you're stuck on.
Failing that if you have a decent B&M near you pop in when they're quiet and someone might be able to help with your first build. My local B&M offered to show me when I first started with a RDA, though I never took them up on it.
Smut, a member on this forum is popular for custom coils.
For Cotton it will come down to personal preference, but some of the more popular are Muji & Connon Bacon v2. I recently got some Firebolt and it seems okay so far and is easy to wick with as the ends are bound

The type of coil is down to the user. But I'd suggest fused claptons at 2x26 *36. You should be able to buy 10 for about £6. As for cotton just buy one of the better ones. Bacon Prime, V2, Cotton Gods to name a few @about £5. You will find your favourite as you gain experience.
YouTube is your friend when it comes to building and wicking.

However, and its a big one. The Smok RBA is a pain to wick, for those of little experience.

I've just remembered. When you buy the V12 RBA it comes with two big clapton coils. I've just dug my prince out, and its still got those original claptons in. I used it for three months solid and they are still in good fettle. So you might not need to buy coils, just yet.

As mentioned above the Prince RBA included coils are decent enough to get you going, I've tried more exotic coils in it but found simple is best with this RBA, again as mentioned it's a bit of a tw@ to wick, my early mistakes were too much cotton packed into the wicking ports which choked the juice flow, too little and it will leak like a new prisoner.

Some great 'monkey see monkey do' videos on YouTube to help though.

I use Muji as it's easier to work with.
