Maybe.... I think it's the overuse of TPA RY4 double to be honest rather than something sinister.

It's filthy stuff, stay low, no more than 5%, often less, not the crazy amounts some people use, on ELR. The dirtiness of it, in a blend, can work wonders.

i used to dislike it as well. but, mix a bottle and leave it for 3 months. 2%. trust me, it is worth it. once you’ve done this, and come round to it, you’ll be able to tolerate your next bottle of it after only a week. don’t ask why, cause i don’t understand it either

maybe it’s ry4 double you don’t like. i think it’s probably quite ubiquitous in a lot of run of the mill desert tobaccos. i don’t really like either. it tastes a bit muddled. but there are others that are not bad. the FA one is decent, it’s very defined caramel, vanilla and a smoky dunt (little actual flavour of tobacco). not really any creaminess. at certain percentages i find it tastes a bit like tablet, actually. and INW ryo (similar but added quite rich tobacco flavour in there) i puff quite a bit.

Yeah, it's in everything.... it's got such a weird 'twang' that just doesn't belong in tobacco for me. I mixed with it loads and found (for me) it just ruins the recipe. It took me ages to figure out why everything I mixed for about 6 months tasted like shit.

aye i persevered with it for a while as well, dunno why we all did. it’s manky stuff!

I actually don't mind Soho as an alternative, but yeah, keep it simple is my new motto ... I have a bunch of FLV I like, that will do.

it’s one of the ones people complained after it was reformulated. you might have the OG version there!

what about a blend with arabian, (0.2) cured tobacco (0.2) and FA cocoa and nut mix? i’ve had a cocoa and nut mix blend in mind for a while, but was never sure if the right tobacco base. FA cocoa in small amounts is pretty good, tastes just like unsweetened cocoa powder. it’s the only chocolate related concentrate i’ve been able to do anything with.

That's good to know, the bottle is filled up to the top of the label, will last ages. From L & T (now Larbrook), they sold some right weird shit, back in the day and you never always knew the brand, until you received the product

sounds good.... do you think that's enough tobacco to come through? .. what % are you thinking for the choc and nuts?
