What's new

The Flavorah Tobacco Lounge

you should get some FA cocoa. it’s the only one i’ve found to be any use. it tastes like cocoa powder, straight from the tub. make your additions as you see fit (cream, caramel, biscuit, tobacco, figs, ginger, mastiha etc etc). :)

I was thinking of making my own, cocoa powder, steeped in pg and then strain it off, just don't use the murky stuff, that settles in the bottom of the bottle.

i’d be a bit wary, there is probably oil content in cocoa powder.

0.30% Classic Cigarette (Flavorah)
0.30% Commercial Cigarette (Flavorah)
0.15% Virginia Tobacco (Flavorah)

Also: 14 drops from the flv bottles equals 0.5%, for me.

Hopefully I'll see it if it's there, I probably wont bother anyway, it's just I cant keep buying flavours.

what size of bottle? i make 7 to be 0.5 in a 30ml bottle so if you are using 60 then our findings match up.

that’s a brave recipe you’ve mixed up there... :D

I recalibrated my scales (On Balance ELS-500) and checked again

30ml mix: 1% is 18 drops, so 9 drops for 0.5%. tbh my scales don't like measuring weights under 1g. What scales are you using? I'm assuming the whole flv pack has the same specific gravity or whatever it is that determines the drops, to weight ratio, I was using Pucker, as I won't be mixing much with it.

i’m just using a cheap set of jeweller’s scales i had lying about. only have a 10g calibration weight which always checks out right but they seem consistent with the various drops from different bottles.

i always just approximate 1g to 1ml. i don’t really care about exactness other than in the ratio between flavours. now that the flavorah bottles have consistently told me 0.02g per drop i’ll always mix them by drops. i do this with all the flavours and only dig the scales out when i forget the weight of drops from any particular type of bottle.

on specific gravity, how does that translate to volume? would there be a reason to consider a ratio by weight as opposed to drop size? any advantage? i think probably not; or it would at least be negligible given the small amounts. but not sure. it works for me, anyway. :)

That is correct, as a rule of thumb, I don't bother with specific gravity for each brand, which you can do on ELR, with marked differences in volume/weight outcomes.

I've no idea, I work in grams, but with these flv cons, I will need to work in drops.

Not bothered, like you say, it's close enough.

This is a mix using the specific gravity of each brand/ flavour in the ELR database, my first ELR mix, I didn't use the SG after this one

This is in bog standard mode, 1ml = 1g, the one I've used ever since:

i think ultimately most of mix in drops. the difference is whether we count them, drop them into a bottle on a scale and weight them, or pour them into a measuring cylinder.

yeah, and really we just all mix to taste anyway ... if your 1% tastes too strong you lower it, it doesn't really matter if it was 1%, 1.25% or 0.75% really.

I think my scales are pretty accurate because when I mix a 10ml bottle it makes a 10ml bottle... if it was too far out the VG and PG would end up being a long way out.

i only ever weigh concentrates, when i do get the scales out. i just pour base mix in on top to fill the bottle. i know how much it holds, and always works okay. :)
