So I started on Elites cig-a-like, which nearly got me off the smokes, then got an ego stick with a basic clearomiser (not a dual coil like the iclear 16 that was revolutionary! Lol) and then upgraded to the ego Twist! I have probably still got one of those somewhere lol

This got me off the smokes. A mate of mine had one and i really liked it. Bought one and never smoked again, nearly 3 years ago now.

Glad it worked for you. In retrospect I like the concept of this, and at the time I though that it looked pretty nice. But I found it such a lot of hassle. Partly cos I was a noob - the different coil options with that bar insert thing seemed far out. But I think some of the design aspects were a bit ropey too - I found the plugs really annoying, changing juice always got messy, and I got endless leaks through the airflow control.

I agree with all of that but i was a noob also and i didn't know any different, but i did persevere with it for about 2 months and then bought a Smok Alien and a SMM Serpent, which i still have although the Alien autofires now so is not used.

Well for me I started with one of these bad lads, ended up giving it to the mother in law and she still uses it !

For me the mod was an Innokin Coolfire 1 with a iclear 30S tank. Was dualing for about a month before I quit altogether. That was 5.5yrs ago now.

I bought an Aspire Pockex about 3 years ago and some horrible tobacco flavoured liquid from a shop. I coughed and coughed and coughed and decided it wasn't for me and went back to smoking.

In January, I decided to give it another try. The Pockex still charged up, I still coughed and coughed and the liquid still tasted horrible. I upgraded to Dinner Lady lemon tart flavour and from the very first vape I knew I would quit the smokes. About 3 days later I stopped smoking altogether.

I still use the Pockex occasionally but it was only when I moved onto the Pal Pro that I began to get real satisfaction from vaping.

There's quite difference in what kit worked for everyone and just shows what works for one might not be suitable for another.
I hope people keep posting so this thread helps more folk off the stinkies.

agreed @StrawberryRipple and there is absolutely no reason why newbies can't start on direct lung, my first b&m kept suggesting and selling me mtl pens and mods (only 2 before i realised not going to work), without that first trip to a second b&m i am convinced i would still be on the smokes now! that bloke was super helpful in my journey. if at first you don't succeed, just keep trying! smoking sucks, find a good friendly b&m, followed quickly by the planet and someone will always be willing to help!
