2 different pound shop torches, a Vamo top connector, and a bit of 6 mm copper bar from an old fuse box. Lots of filing, lots of head scratching and a 2 quid tin of gold spray paint from Aldi. Vapes brilliant!

I'm using the original torch button/switch on the bottom until I can find some little springs. It works ok you just have to remember to switch it off though!
I'm thinking of making the bottom button from another bit of 6mm copper. No voltage drop that way.

A bottom firing torch. I didn't know there was such a thing. Time to hit the pound shops I reckon.

Sent from somewhere in cloudy Kent

Good work mate, is it a mech? I'll be interested to see how you fabricate a copper switch to replace the on/off torch switch, I've been try to come up with something original to switch a mech wooden box mod but so far I'm at a loss to come up with something new. What is the amp limit on the torch switch and is it up to your needs?

That's the ones! I bought the bigger ones from Poundland though for erm........a pound. The smaller one I used was from another pound shop but I can't remember which. I saw the same one in Asda today for 4.99. They all work but for 18650 battery they need to be stretched. A bit of imagination and searching through any junk/bits of pipe, and Bobs your transexual aunt.

Well it's got no wires or electronic bits, the live is directly attached to the centre pin on the connector and the earth is switched with the torch switch that looks like it's just made up from a spring and a couple of chrome strips. So yes I suppose it's a mech. The only way that I know to check the limit of the torch switch is to make it go bang/fizzle. I'm using it with a 2000mah 18650 driving a 1.8 Ohm coil and it works perfectly well, nothing is getting hot (accept the coil obviously) and I get almost a full day of good vape from it.
As for the switch I'm thinking of a bit of that copper rod from the fuse box and soldering it to a couple of copper washers and a spring. The only safety issue I can see with this, is the point of contact needs to be outside the battery compartment as there will always be a spark/arching when the circuit is made, could be dodgy with a freshly charged battery. Easily got around though with a plastic/rubber washer in the bit that contains the switch. Hope this helps, if you come up with a better idea before I do let me know lol.

I use that sort of torch at work and often find myself thinking how I could turn it into a mech.
