The latest torch mod

Good work mate, is it a mech? I'll be interested to see how you fabricate a copper switch to replace the on/off torch switch, I've been try to come up with something original to switch a mech wooden box mod but so far I'm at a loss to come up with something new. What is the amp limit on the torch switch and is it up to your needs?
Shouldn't be too difficult with a wooden mod as wood is a good insulator. Send me a pic of the mod and I'm sure I'll think something up.

There are a couple of vids on Utube showing how to do them. One gets really complex with a fixed 5V output. That was the one that inspired me to try. He finished it off with JB weld though which I didn't like, so I bought loads and broke them to work out a way of joining them together. The ready turned threads, internal and external are a godsend to someone who hasn't got a lathe. My thinking was that it would be such a shame to waste them, so I used them wherever I could. I'm still using more glue than I'd like, but it@s cheap as chips anyway. The important thing is they work and they are all unique. Keep it simple!

Thanks for the offer buddy, I have plenty of ideas but nothing original and it's made from solid so I'm trying to go about it without copying a Touchwood, that's my aim, having said that the Touchwood is about as obvious and simple a solution for switching there is. I may end up with a mech tube mod switch for it but I'm in no rush as my kids are taking up most of my time, it's an as and when project I'm afraid.

Keep up the good work mate.

I've got 2 granddaughters, 10 and 11, soldering stuff together now! They love it and get really excited when they create a simple circuit with a battery and a couple of LEDS. How sad is that haha.

Nothing sad about that mate, my 8 year old loves to help me but if he's helping my 3 year old wants to join in and that's not a good idea so most of my time is spent in the park instead
