Think of the children

It was thinking about children that got Gary Glitter into a right pickle - I don't think this is good advise at all.

When the creator of the world (however you perceive them to be), created plants, he,she,it or they showed good sense. To certain plants was granted aroma and taste that would appeal to animals. It has never been evident until recently that sweet flavours, as granted to many berries and other fruits, to mint, to liquorice et cetera, were intended to appeal specifically to young humans, and thus lead them inexorably into addictions that would ultimately lead to their untimely deaths.

The lords and masters of the League Against All Things Tobacco (however you perceive them to be), however, think they know better. They believe that the only reason that sweet flavours are used in the fluids vaporised in e-cigarettes is a sinister ploy by tobacco companies and other drug- and death-dealing agencies to capture our children, and sentence them to lifelong servitude to the king of evils, the smoking of tobacco. Not for these self-opinionated, self-elected, guardians of the public good is the idea that tasting good can be doing good.

The hoi polloi of the world, the common people (however you perceive them to be) have greater wisdom. Some, having accepted most of the arguments of the aforementioned League, have broken free of the chains of tobacco usage and the harm done by smoking. They have quit smoking (as advised) and assumed the much safer alternatives offered by e-cigarettes, and are much happier and healthier as a result. Because they want to break away from tobacco, many have further distanced themselves by avoiding tobacco flavours, and moved instead to flavours they enjoy – which are those that a natural providence has happily made available.

We, the e-cig enthusiasts, (however you perceive us to be) believe that we are given free choice to make personal decisions on our own health and safety. If we are denied the right to go about our lawful business, we will fight for our right against the spurious and specious arguments that would see us forced back into inhaling tobacco smoke. Unless it be proved inconclusively that we harm anyone else by our actions, please let us be!
