Thinning 70VG Juice

Afternoon all
I have a couple of tanks that I can't get to wick - the Bishop, and the Aiolos Uncharted bridge.
I suspect this is because I use 70:30 shortfills and nic shots of the same proportions and this is too thick for the small ports on these tanks.
I want to see if thinning out the juice will cure the problem - what's the best way to do this without overly diluting the flavour, using stuff in the house (i.e. I don't have any PG lying around).
I've seen water and vodka mentioned - are they OK to use, and roughly what proportions to get the equivalent of a 50:50 mix?

I regularly thin my 70:30 with vodka. Buy a cheap bottle of supermarket vodka, decant a bit into 30ml or 10ml bottle and thin your juice (In Tank!) by adding a few drops. I usually add about 7-10 drops to a 5ml tank or 5 drops to 3ml tank. Shake it to mix, leave for a few minutes and you're ready to go. You will need to experiment a bit as it will also depend on your coil. If you thin it too much it will leak, also if you add too much vodka you burn the cotton and have a spit-back, that's why you need to fill the tank and saturate your coil with juice first, then add a few drops of vodka, otherwise the coil/cotton will be saturated by vodka and you will burn it. You can also thin it with whisky, brandy, although obviously the flavour will be affected. Vodka is perfect. Just experiment a little and you will soon find a perfect balance.

Roughly in a 100ml bottle 70/30 is 70ml VG and 30ml PG, so in 50/50 it'd be 50ml VG and 50ml PG. If you tried to add 20ml of any dilutant, you'll pump the flavour. You need concentrates and nic to rebalance it, or just buy 50/50 in future.

To get a 100ml bottle of 70/30 to 50/50 you'll have to add another 40ml of any dilutant for a total of 140ml with 70ml VG, 30ml PG and your 40ml of dilutant. As already noted, the flavour will be ruined.

Done a rough calc and 10% dilutant should give just over 60% VG from an original 70:30 mix.
It's more about what I can use to dilute - I want to test if the juice thickness is the reason the tanks aren't wicking.
If that works if I make sure to get 100PG Nic shots that gives a 60:40 from a 70:30 50ml shortfill.
