Thoughts on Amazon PNP or GTX coils?

Amazon are usually a pretty reliable vendor for a lot of goods, usually ill go to Amazon if in doubt due to usually being able to trust the brands and reviews.
I've noticed a hell of a lot of complaints in store about PNP coils not lasting and most recently GTX coils. The 0.2ohm and 0.3ohm GTX have a orange or red labelled top that you can usually use to define them. However I had a gentleman ask me for some replacements yesterday and handed me the empty box of supposedly 0.3ohm coils. It was hard to describe but the colour at the top was noticeably 'off'. It was still orange, but it didn't seem right. Going over the box it had the same look and feel almost like something was off. The authenticity sticker was present but it looked like a different one than I'm used to seeing (but I do see a lot so my memory may have been off). They only lasted a couple of days each apparently.
PNP coils I've never brought so I cant comment, but I honestly hear of at least one customer every 2-3 days asking where they are going wrong with coil life lasting a day or so. I always ask where they got them and most often its Amazon.
Genuinely asking on others experience with Amazon coils, is it just certain ones are from a bad batch of maybe down to bad luck? Its a conundrum anyway as if you suggest avoiding Amazon they usually get offended thinking I'm just trying to sell them my 'more expensive' coils :hmm:
Anyone have any interesting stories or information on spotting fakes (are fakes even out there and if so how are they justifiable to profit from I wonder :6: )

I'm sure there are some legitimate vape vendors on there but personally I wouldn't take the risk of buying from Amazon.

For coils, i use proper vendors, never amazon or ebay because those platforms are rife with fakes. More easy to spot on ebay when you look at the sellers feedback and see the complaints

yep tend to agree ALWAYS buy from a reputable vendor (most will even show you the origin) of legitimacy ..... amazon do have a lot of fakes flying around as well as the likes of ebay

I would avoid scamazon and fleabay they are rife with fakes and neither marketplace appears to have much incentive to deal with the issue.

I've had a few fakes - not just vape stuff but toothbrush heads and printer inks too.

Even the feedback can be unreliable as products / accounts can be switched at the drop of a hat.

Of course you do get plenty of decent vendors on there. But for me, it's not worth the risk.

only time ive ever used scamazon for coils was to get some triton 2 coils and they sent a motherboard computer cable and then arguesd the point that that was what i ordered. luckily screen shots of the coils listing and the receipt i got a refund.
as said, almost every coil is faked or cloned as its a big money maker.

I’ve never bought coils from Amazon, but have ordered a couple of vape-related things in the past. Both were garbage, one a confirmed clone by the scratch panel on the packaging. I’d be unlikely to use Amazon again, given the 2/2 failure rate to date

Bought innokin coils off amazon and scratch check came up genuine. Also mods ive bought there have been genuine.

For 4.5 years the only place I bought mods/coils/tanks was Amazon and eBay. Every purchase I made in that time was genuine. It was mainly Smok kit. Then I found POTV, and now generally use vendors with a good rep (and no longer buy/use Smok kit). Apart from anything else, they are generally cheaper than Amazon, and eBay can be dicey.
