Just started my v2 e cig today and I noticed it makes me cough more than regular cigs. The cough is generated by the back if my throat not lungs. My question is is the throat hit suppose to be harsh at first or did I get the wrong product for myself or am I taking in too much vapor? Did you notice more coughing in the beginning? Good news is I only had 3 stinkers today though!

Well done on only 3 ciggies!
I did not cough when I first started vaping but I have read that many do. It's not the same as smoking. You just need to get used to it.
What strength nicotine are the ecigs you are using? I don't know what a V2 e-cig is.

I'm using 14 mg. I usually smoke a half a pack a day, so I wasn't sure what strength to use. Thanks!

14mg is not that high. I wonder if you are just not used to it yet. It is different inhaling vapour than it is inhaling smoke.
I have found that my strong flavoured menthol that I bought recently makes me cough a little.

Depends what flavour/PG/VG/Nic content I'm using, depends on what my body complained about.I have some blueberry (same ratios of PG/VG/Nic as all my other bottles) that rips my tonsils out & if I drop the voltage 0.1 I just cannot taste a dam thing. You might be getting a "dry hit" so try a twiddle with the power applied to your atomizer.

Hi there, I found when I started Vaping I had a really sore throat and a cough for about a week and then I was fine, but I've noticed if I give even a heavy smoker a blast on my kit they always find it a lot stronger than a stinkie and cough their lungs up!!!!:grin2:

Can you see what the blend of pg / vg it is?
willsay something like 70/30 or 50/50.....

Grats on only 3 cigs!

That's 'throat hit' and if vaping is nailing your throat like that then you are probably "doing it wrong" (in days to come you can amuse yourself endlessly by passing an e-cig to a smoker mate somewhere and watching them take a drag. If you inale it the same way as you did a cigarette then you get really harsh throat hit and cough, a lot.)

The technique to vaping is to inhale it more like you would a cigar and less like you would a cigarette.

Take longer slower drags and draw the vapour into your mouth, then when you have a mouthful, inhale into you lungs briefly and then exhale.

The nicotine in vapour is absorbed differently to the nicotine in smoking because of the particle size of the vapour. (Smoke is a lot smaller particles) The nic gets absorbed via the mucus membranes on the inside of your mouth and throat and not so much via your lungs so it can take a bit longer to get into your system.

If you are taking long slow mouth draws already, then you might have a hotspot, or poor airflow into the atomiser and are getting dry hits or partial dry hits. I don't know what a v2 is but most clearos/cartos are pretty foolproof, so it's most likely you've not mastered the correct inhaling technique yet and are using it like you used to smoke cigs.

I've seen this technique described as different to smoking before - in fact saw one article that said you don't inhale directly into the lungs as you would with a cig, but into the mouth first

I always smoked like that anyway. I've never been aware of a smoker inhaling directly into the lungs like you would with an asthma inhaler.

Anyway - back to throat hit. I coughed a lot with the cigalikes I had on my first vaping attempt, and when I got a chest infection, I couldn't use them and actually found the cigs easier on the lungs.

Though none of the juices/set ups I have now make me cough, I find juices at 80/20 or 70/30 PG/VG ratio too harsh. I like the smoother vape of a 50/50 mix
