Hi all. I posted a few days ago about my new set up I'm waiting for delivery on.
I've been on /off smoking and vaping with a kayfun lite plus for a while now.
I've bought myself a new mod which is a coolfire TC100. I decided on it as I need to explore vaping more and I've kinda futureproofed myself by buying a TC mod in case I decide to move into that environment rather than have to buy another mod and if I don't then I still have a decent wattage device to use.
I currently run my KF at 1.6 ohm and anywhere between 10-18 watts as I find the flavour fantastic. I have a shitload of vampire vape eliquids that I bought but in the kayfun I have trouble with it as it's 60:40 PG/VG.
If was fine in my old ego setup but makes me cough like an Asthmatic and makes me wheeze like a dogs chew toy. I've bought some pure VG from my local vape shop and added 5ml to my 10ml bottles to switch the ratio to 40:60 PG/VG and it's a lot better but the nic has obviously dropped so I'm either vaping more or smoking.
I'm waiting on the delivery of the mod and a Serpent Mini as it looks fantastic as an rta and has consistently good reviews with ease of building and so on.
Obviously I'm now moving more into DTL than MTL and looking forward to it. I'm going to use the supplied coils to start with but want to build my own when I get to the hang of wicking etc.
What coils do you guys recommend? Is my KF set up of 1.6 ohm going to be ok or should I really be looking at sub ohm coils to get the best out of it?
And what gauge and material could should I be looking at? I'm fine sticking with wattage at the minute, so which gauge kanthal should I building with and how many wraps for a good sub ohm with this tank?
I use organic cotton in my KF so suggestions with that wick would be handy as well as a pre made Clapton coil wire would be nice too. I'll get into building my own Clapton in good time, I need to walk before I run!
A good high VG juice supplier that does good flavour is also on my wish list so recommendations more than welcome as I've had a butchers at the vendor section and I honestly have no idea which way to turn in that respect!
Many thanks
Grant.
