I love my Mephisto, but only for very serious builds. I use an Origen for steady builds(0.3+).

I find around 70w to be the sweet spot on the Mephisto but 100w+ is what it does better than anything else I own. You need high power to get good production because of the big air flow and chamber. At the moment I am using dual coils of royal 26 wrapped on 2.5mm I think 9 wraps on each, can't remember what it came out to but somewhere around 0.15. Flavour is good and vapour is amazing. If you want to go low, try the tigres sabre tooth wire, the Mephisto is my only rda that will take that wire!

Would the wire I'm using make huge difference, supplier wise, ?
I'm using mvwire from amazon, I'm struggling to see how people manage to build so low, I struggle like an idiot trying to get below 0.5, I'm only aiming for 0.3 as that's as low as I wanna risk on these batteries,

The twisted wire isn't being a pita and heating so slowly that you've run out of lung capacity before its hot?
Try parallel strands the same number as the twisted and this should heat a little faster.

No the twisted was heating pretty quick to be honest, nothing faulty with the mephisto either, just knocked up 5wraps of 24awg around 1mm scrog, 0.3 ohms , laying on a flavoured a bed of glycerated fluffyness, yeah its ok,

The sabretooth stuff is just twisted hefty ribbon wire, nothing particularly fancy but it does give a nice low resistance (0.1 easily enough). I tried twisted 0.3 and couldn't get close to it, I think twisted 0.5 would be about the same.

Out of interest what batteries/mod are you using? I found 18650's are prett useless for low sub-ohming I use lipo packs for anything under 0.5. Coils pushing 60W should fire quickly and effectively.
I would also try bigger wraps 2.5-3mm as you need plenty of juice inside there to keep the flavour up.

Purple efest 2100s, that's why 0.3 is lowest ill go, this little coil doesn't throw a bad amout of vapour but it dry hits so quick
