That link says the US Government hold a patent for the ebola virus,just curious as to why this virus when it is predominately a 3rd world continent that suffers from the virus?

Does anyone remember all the media hype and fear mongering about a flu pandemic a few years ago and how vast sums of money were spent stockpiling tamiflu?
Fear is a great tool for manipulating populations and also for suppressing dissent.
We're seeing a fair bit of media hype with ebola of late... you can bet your arse somebody, somewhere will be profiting from that hype and the fear it creates.

If I didn't know any better id say they were re-labelling Camping equipment and adding a premium.

The US have stock and patents for many viruses, including the only worldwide stock of smallpox which is a bit of a pain in the bum for archaeologists as they won't release any to provide a vaccine.
