Not sure whats going on with this torpedo chrome clearomizer.
I've been trying it on a tornado c-twist. Its rated at 3ohms but set the voltage anything over 3.7 volts and it tastes real bad.
It doesnt even taste quite right at 3.7v and its nowhere near a satisfying vape in terms of vapour produced and throat hit.
I only have the one so dont know if it just this one playing up.
I have made sure the wick isnt being obstructed in any way.

I have a 1.5ohm 2ml DCC too and that rocks !

Ive never used one, but if it's tasting burnt, make sure there is no rubber touching the wick or coil.

Also, if you can get to the coil (take it off the mod first!) take a tooth pick and separate the coils a little bit so that they arent too close or too tight. Make sure they aren't touching!

They might be too tight and the juice could not be wicking.

Ok, looks like thats exactly whats wrong with it.
Touching both sides of the plastic housing and its turned so many times around the wick there is no space to be able to seperate the turns.
When i try its pushing the edges harder on to the plastic housing.
Ive got the coil right out now and it looks like i would have to disconnect the coil from the wire to shorten it so there are less turns and then i could get them spaced out a bit.
The coil is wrapped around the wick 13 or 14 times very tight together and there's just not enough room.
Looks to me like its only going to fit 8 or 9 turns if you want a gap either end too so its not touching the plastic.
Shortening the coil would make it less ohms too would it? Thats not a problem, but can i be bothered to try and sort it. I doubt it !

Glad you were able to deduce the problem with my limited info :D

Not limited kms, you were spot on
Are these things done by hand? Ive done what i can with it for now but there are simply too many turns on it.
Messing around with it exposed a lot of black, singed wick and that made it taste even more disgusting so i washed it out with hot water.
At 4.2v its crackling and popping nicely, no noise from it before, loads more vapour too.
Taste is better but not quite right. Its still touching the sides of the housing and maybe the wick is causing some bad taste too now ? Definately still got a few coils that are touching too. Think its going in the bin.
Anyway, if i get this problem again, i'll know what it could be, so thanks.

:)

Yeah, I had a few Visions that needed the coils fiddled to get rid of the nasties.

boge in tanks :) never fails :)

Is there any way you can cut away small sections of the plastic housing with a craft blade so the coil isnt touching....it might just help get rid of the burnt flavour and any other toxins you could be releasing feom burning the plastic/rubber.

Hi,
I suppose it could be made to work properly, i dont know if cutting away the plastic to make space for the coil would make it easy for juice to leak into the centre ?
Ive learnt a bit about coils and wicks etc and i nearly got it working properly but im not going to faff about with it any more.
Its a nice drip tip though, i'll just keep that :)
