Hi guys.

I'm used to mixing stand alone flavours like say heisenberg or pink lemonade and do so to a set percentage, ie 15%

Using the potv calculator app its a doddle and I'm fine with it.

Now my question is, I've picked up some wera concentrates based on reviews on here and they seem to be very concentrated and used sparingly, down to 1.6% for some.

I'm guessing the best way to find how much of these i like is to mix up 5ml unflavoured base and to add drops to my taste.
One review on a concentrate i ordered mentioned "this was good at 1.6% (4 drops in 5ml)"

So i was planning on doing the 5ml unflavoured base and adding drops of flavour, then when i have the flavour i want, noting down the recipie, which i input into the potv app as percentages.

So, if i like say 9 drops of this concentrate in my 5ml unflavoured base, how to i convert the 9drops into a percentage for creating a recipie in the app?

Differant bottles will give different amounts of drops per ml.. The ones I use are near enough bang on 25 drops per ml but I've used some that give 40 drops per ml..

The best you can do is measure it.. Add some drops to a syringe and count until you hit 1 ml.. But remember not to take the drops in the end of the syringe below the 0 line into the count.

I convert drops to percents by measuring out 0.1 ml then dripping it back into the syringe. It isn't all that accurate, but does give you a starting point which you can then tweak to suit once you have a rough guide.

I have been making a lot of this type of 5ml sampler recently, all done with a 1ml syringe. 1% equals 0.05ml which is fiddly but just about doable. Once you get up to 2% with 0.1ml it is fairly straightforward

Yeah I've got tons of 1ml syringes, looks like my best bet may be to load one up with flavour and add in 0.05 intervals until I get in the right ball park

Is it not easier to mix with mls ? mls are regardless of drop size.

Yeah it is, but when using a concentrate thats recommended at 1 - 3% and your doing a 5ml tester, even a 1ml syringe isn't great for accuracy, when i figure out what percentages i like, scaling up to decent quantity mixes will of course be done by syringe

I think each drop with my bottles is aroind 0.04ml

You'll work it out, I'm sure.

As others have said I wouldn't trust drops as you get different sized drops. Ml's is ml's all day long and a 1ml syringe is your best best

I've been mixing samples with drops for a few weeks now, I've read up more on it and believe it's the way to go for simple quick sample recipes..

The new bottles I'm using give 40 drops per ml.. So I start with 5ml of base liquid (pg/vg/nic) each drop of flavour I add from those bottles equals 0.5%, or I could start with 2.5ml of base and each drop would then equal 1%

If you're getting 33 drops per ml then that equals 1 drop per 6ml of base is 0.5%, 3ml of base and a drop would equal 1%

I'm mainly using FlavourArt concentrates lately which is making it easier to play about.. All the flavours are near enough the same strength so it's simple to plan out a recipe.
