Soulubarome Panettone, I merrily mixed a test 10ml bottle and ended up with what looks like oil floating on top of the vg, no way would it mix, warmed it up, nothing doing. It stayed like this:

Glass of water and a few drops of concentrate on top confirmed what I thought, it's very oily. Emailed the vendor, here is the reply:

This flavour contains triacetin, this is what causes it to separate and act like oil. Normally if you shake well before use it will disperse and mix properly but will settle again after time. We are very sorry for the inconvenience, we know this component can be a right pain in flavours and can cause people to worry but I can assure you that it is completely safe to vape

After receiving the email I mixed some in pg, this is straight after:

This is after 5 minutes:

There's definitely something badly wrong, I've never heard of triacetin, apart from triacetin it's my belief that the concentrate is pumped full of citrus oil, I don't know which fruit, it's a lovely aroma, I can probably make some wonderful ice cream with it. The concentrate certainly isn't completely safe to vape, it is in any case impossible to blend or mix.

I use lorann's Lemonade concentrate and it apparently contains triacetin, I have never had any separation and it fully dissolved in water. The wikipedia page on triacetin says solubility in water is 6.1 g/100 mL so either the concentrate is loaded with triacetin or their explanation is pure crap, given most concentrates are usually 70%+ PG i'd be inclined to think the latter.

What is that picture? Can't make it out?

Oily concentrate sitting on top of tap water in a red plastic bowl, bastard of a job catching it right with a point and click camera using my limited photography skills.

Edit:

Sent the photo to the vendor, better response this time: Thank you for sending the photo, i am going to remove this concentrate from the website and we are going to test this today, we will let you know of the outcome.

That's something at least. Keep us posted!
