Hi guys, new to TC!

After a crap experience with the stock subtank ni coils. I whacked a twisted 28g ni200 9 wrap 2.5mm ID coil in the rba section of my TFV4 mini.

Its fantastic however its came in at 0.06ohms is this safe in TC? Im using a vtc mini with samsung 25r's.

I understand these are 20a rated and the amp reading on the mod reads 19a when i fire it at 75w and 480°F but settles down as i vape. I know its a regulated mod and it has protection? But am i safe vaping thia low with these batterys? Or should i switch out the build and aim in the .15 ballpark. Just dont want to be stressing the shit out of my batterys.

Any advice would be great, apologies for the script lol

Cheers

Should be ok, obviously pushing your batterys to the spec limit will give less longivity than running at less amps.

Thanks lad

Its a really nice vape with this build just dont really feel comfortable pushing the batterys.

Would it be a major difference if i just went with a standard coil?

What im thinking is less wire to heat less amps and strain on the batts but will i lose vape quality compared to the twisted coil?

Heads chocka with TC might just stick with kanthal untill ive done a bit more reading lol

It's more wire you need not less, you really need to get above 0.1, preferably 0.12. With NI200 You'll need about 10 or 12 wraps of that twiated wire to get up to that level, It shouldn't be too difficult, I've managed to fit builds like that in a Heron so you should be able to fit in the TFV4 RBA, You'd get better results resistance wise with single strand wire. If you're using genuine 25R's then theyre good for 30 amps but the higher the resistance you can get the more accurate your TC will be...

Wow it worked a treat, took the twisted build out and put just a single strand of 28g in 11 wraps,
Came out bang on, 0.15!
Its vaping even better than the twisted coil!
I will deffo be taking your advice and making sure im in the .15 ballpark with future builds.

Thanks again :)

No worries, the other thing to remember with TC is to not use too much wick - If you do the juice flow slows down and the coil get too hot too quickly so that it doesn't vaporise enough juice and you get a cold weak vape...

Im with ye mate, i guess thats the cause when temp protection kicks in straight away, i had that issue in the stm rba. I found just the slightest bit of resisstance thru the coil works best for me now :)

I personally wouldn't be too happy using that setup based purely on the battery spec. Have you considered using a different battery? Peace of mind is just as important as good vapour!
