Ultrasonic steeping with glass?

When steeping with glass bottles should i be using the plastic tray or just put them right on the metal base? Dont want them smashing!

I doubt your ultrasonic cleaner is ferocious enough to break the bottles by knocking them into the side of the tank .but as you say.fit the basket to be on the safe side .and rest the ultrasonic between cycles ,don't do as I did and burnt the piezo chip thing out
