Users bemoan e-cigarette bans in NYC, Chicago

Imagine for a moment you're at a bar and there are 20 people who are puffing on something that looks like a cigarette and then somebody smells something that smells like tobacco smoke," Farley says. "How's the bartender going to know who to tap on the shoulder and say, 'Put that out'?"

Well the person that smells the most and has a smouldering cigarette in their hand would be a good start....
Honestly, are people really that stupid?
I think cigalikes should be banned. No one is going to mistake an MVP for a cigarette...

Nope,:28: whilst most, if not all of us on here think they are a waste of time and money, an awful lot of ex-smokers who now call themselves vapers still use them, and an awful lot of members of POTV started vaping with them :P

And if any of you know one of these folks, you can always show them the light by letting them try out your PV :D

I started on a cigalike, if there was no such thing and an ego type was the starter device instead I would have started on that - they don't look like cigarettes at all and therefore zero confusion can be had.

Every pub i walk into, i pull out my VTR and ask if i can use it?!
That causes confusion when i explain that it is a newer better version of ecig!
Not been turned down yet.

Same for me, "can I vape?" Waving some extravagant mech mod with rediculous atty on top, in wigan most recognise the mechs as ecigs because, going off other peoples anecdotes on the forum, they are unusually popular here, in other places, thet look mildly confused till you explain its a fancy ecig, its rare they say no, and if they do I just accept it and move on. I've never had a landlord complain and generally the comments are "that smells nice, what is it?" Followed by an impromptu game of guess the flavour.

Last place I was in had the old style smoke filter/extractors, once they'd seen clouds they flicked the extractors on and encouraged bigger clouds :D

An interesting result of these bans is the growing movement towards civil disobedience, the subject of an article I'm writing at the moment...mainly because I'm always a fan of civil disobedience :D
