Basically, I've had a Vamo V5 for 3 months now, it's the kind that doesn't switch to and from RMS by holding the - button for 10 seconds and I must have tried 2 dozen different juices from various vendors and no matter what I do, I can't put the voltage at more than 3.3v or it starts tasting burnt, I've tried the Ego clearos, the Mini Nova and my main ProTank 2 Mini in 1.8, 2.2 and 2.5 Ohms. It hates the 1.8's and burns them at even 3 volts.

It's definitely the Vamo as when I put my tanks on other batteries like my spare Ego's, they vape fine.

I see people talking about vaping at 4v and higher and I'm like 'how is this possible?' I just don't see the point in having a variable voltage mod if I can only vape at the standard 3.3 volts, I suppose the battery lasting more than a few hours is a benefit.

Any ideas?

Sounds like the board might be knackered and it's pumping out more volts than it's saying - does the battery get hot?

Hey, thanks for your reply. No, not really, it doesn't even heat up when I'm dry burning. It's certainly a strange one.

First off, im not familiar with the vamo, but googled v5 and this should be vv/vw, have you tried vw mode ?

Your Vamo v5 - A quick guide

First, start from the beginning, take your battery out and then put it back in again Quickly press the power button 5 times to turn it on.

How to use the menu:
Press the power button momentarily to light up the display, then keep pressing "+" and "-" at the same time for 5 seconds to enter the main menu
once you have reached the main menu press the "+" button to adjust the main menu and press the "-" button to select your choice from the sub menu
Waiting for 3 seconds without pressing any buttons will exit the main menu.

the menu choices are:
Power/Voltage: You have the option to put the device in either "power" or "voltage" mode
lcd display: You can adjust the display to show either "voltage/power" "battery-life" or "resistance" when the power button is hit. Note this setting is not saved when changing batteries.
lcd on/off: You have the option to turn the display "on" or "off" while firing

voltage and resistance information:
press the "+" button for 3 seconds to display current battery voltage level.
press the "-" button for 3 seconds to display the resistance of your atomizer.
to select between mean (avg) and rms, press the "-" button for 10 seconds and the mode will be displayed, repeat this procedure to select the other mode if desired.
if you press the power button and the oled screen displays "low resistance" that means the working resistance of your device is under 1.2 ohm, it will not fire.
if you press the power button and the oled screen displays "low v" that means the battery voltage of your device is under 3.2 volts, it will not fire. Change your battery.

If your Vamo does none or any of the above, then, as stated by other contributors, there is a fault with the unit.

Thanks for your replies.

Yeah I've tried VW and it's the same.

Everything works on it, but apparently there is two different models, one that can switch between RMS and Mean, and one that can't, mine doesn't do that, I held - in for over a minute and nothing happened other than the function that shows how much voltage is left, that is another odd thing though, - on mine shows the voltage, + shows the resistance, but for the above instructions, it should be the other way round.

I got it from here

I bought the dark chrome model if that helps.

I haven't got a multimeter I'm afraid, sorry.
