vamo + vivi nova = problems

Hi all. Got my vamo on saturday and to be honest im not having the best of times with it. My main problem is 90 percent of the time im getting a burnt taste even on 3w. Ive set the vamo to no2 ive cut the little silicon cap down slightly so its not cutting off juice to the head and at most I cant go over 6w without a horrid taste. Up until 6w its pretty flavourless as well, not much throat hit even with a 1.8 ohm head. Tried two different tanks various heads, 18350 stacked and single and still the same. Its to the point now ive gone back to my riva and boge cart setup. Any suggestions?

Sounds like it could be the nova not wicking as it should. I have used a nova and Vamo combination many times without problems. Have you tried changing the coil on the nova, as it may just be a dodgy one?

Cheers for reply. You mean the bit with all the wicks on it? If so then yeah I have. Tried 1.8 2.4 and 2.8

With every vape I attempt im afraid. I was gonna try a new carto on it later and see what happens.

I used to leave the vamo on its side for a bit. Used to help sometimes.

always best to tilt the rig regularly to make sure wicks are wet ..everything i was gonna suggest has already been covered ..cant see how it can be the vamo .it has to be the vivi nova`s .i`m vaping at 4.2volts on a 2 ohm coil that i made yesterday first attempt ..try opening the top and dripping some juice directly onto the coil then close up and vape ,,if this tastes good then its a wicking issue.hope this helps gary

Just a bit of elimination then.

If you can put the Vivi onto your old Battery, let's assume an Ego for now. And it's fine.
But on the vamo at say 3.7v, then the vamo is causing the issue.
If it's pants on the other unit, then the Vivi is causing the issue.

Thanks for all the great advice. I tried the nova on my riva battery, tasted muted, very similar to the vamo when not burning but more of a throat hit, dropped a drip of liquid into the hole while on the vamo at 5w tasted like it did on the riva. I only use one liquid now and thats el toro Guevara 24mg. Maybe its me, fried taste buds and im not keen on novas??

I've a similar problem Gary, I'm using El Toro Virginia Prime. Tastes fantastic in a carto but I'm getting nothing with the Nova Mini. Tasteless with the 1.8ohm so I rewicked the 2.8ohm myself, its now 2ohm with a single 3mm wick. Its pushing out clouds of vapour but very little taste. I was starting to think the Nova simply isn't suited to this liquid..
