Not sure if this is the right area to post, sure I'll find out if not! I'm heading overseas for a 3-4 week period, Malaysia (KL) and Australia (Sydney and Melbourne area) - has anyone experience/knowledge if vaping is legal/tolerated etc.?

Thanks for asking this Kazza as I've been meaning to ask the same about the US as I'm heading there later in the year for a few weeks and wanted to know what it was like for vaping and such, so will just tag this onto your post rather than make a new one :D

I'm from the States and have several vaping friends there and it's basically treated like smoking cigarettes. I seem to recall some states banning it entirely, but I don't know how true that is. I'd just Google the name of the state with the word vaping or eCigarette.

Thanks Pyretta I shall do that and see what it brings up. I know that Finland have also banned vaping inside and in some public places so it surprises me that the UK haven't done the same...though I know there's a risk of it going the same way and have signed the vaping initiative so hopefully it won't get to that point!

You might want to look into bringing juice back from the States...there's a huge variety. I think it's okay, but check with your airline to see if they mention it. I know the next time I get back home, I plan to snag a few bottles.

Vaping seems to be much more popular and tolerated in most states in the US than the UK. Another vaping community I'm a member of are mostly made up of Americans and that seems to be the general jist. However having never been myself I can't properly clarify! There's quite a few US members on the forum though who I'm sure will have some better information.

I shall have to keep that in mind Pyretta :D

I've seen some outrageous juices on US sites (Smurf Piss from Alien Vapor comes to mind). Some say they'll ship here, but after it's all said and done the amount is way more than I'm prepared to pay for a 10ml bottle. I think I'll probably order some to be sent to my mothers house and go from there.

I can't imagine buying it and bringing it back with you would be a problem as long as there are no strict bans on nicotine in the countries concerned. I recently travelled to India via Qatar and had no problems with transporting my own supply back & forth (and that probably amounted to a total of at least 300ml).

Most of the kit went in the hold baggage, including my best batteries and the bottles - I just carried a couple of smaller mAh egos and about 3 1ml tanks each filled with a different flavour juice, which I popped into the clear bag when I went through security.

Coming home, a Goan official got a bit curious/suspicious about the tanks/liquid, but one of his colleagues was more clued up on them.
