Vaporshark Test Every E-Liquid They Stock – Dr F Says They Are “Severely Problematic”

In an incredibly bold and presumably very expensive move, Vaporshark have taken it upon themselves to lab test every brand of e-liquid they sell for potentially harmful diketones and have published the results on their website, giving their customers the chance to decide if they want to inhale chemicals such as diacetyl and acetyl propionyl.

Diacetyl (DA) is a chemical used in the food industry to give a buttery or creamy flavour and it’s absolutely fine and dandy to eat, but to inhale may be another question – it is believed to cause popcorn lung (bronchiolitis obliterans), a serious and irreversible condition in which the tiny air sacs in the lungs become scarred.

Acetyl propionyl (AP) can similarly cause severe respiratory hazard.

Here are some of the results Vaporshark have made available >>>>

I find this whole thing problemmatic.
It isolates one supplier and must damage their sales - no smoke without fire, eh? The test results may well show that they're no worse than many juice suppliers, but the damage has already been done, hasn't it?

Juice manufacturing is unregulated and this issue might well apply to a large proportion of them ... but they're not in the firing line ... today.

I wonder, would it be a very short list of suppliers who test every e-liquid they make and publish ALL the results of that testing? So we can then hang a big question mark over ALL the rest instead of selectively highlighting one at a time?

Read this & it had me worried.

Just checked onepoundeliquid.com & their website states explicitly this:

We don't use ANY flavoring that contain Diacetyl, Acetyl Propionyl or Acetoin.

It also states elsewhere that they never add any of those things to their liquids at any stage.

Fairly reassuring.

Vaporsharks website may be getting loads of traffic, it's very unresponsive!

Vaporshark actually tested every brand they stock, Beard Vapes, Space Jam, Vintage Vapors, Cosmic Fog etc, etc, etc - they didn't single anyone out and it must have cost a bloody fortune...

Can't help thinking that those companies with the funding are setting an example of standards still to come, someone has to be first & when harder regulations hit it will be the most compliant & transparrently responsible companies who survive.

If juice compaines have nothing to hide...they have nothing to fear.

.....but vaping is still 98% safer then smoking....right?

So fuck it.....its not something im that bothered about....they can publish all they want....

Won't make any difference to what i vape personally

^ I agree & i also don't vape any of those liquids either, nor understand the measurements of nasties & what's safe or what isn't.
