Various questions (beginner)

Hey @Oli I started with a similar setup but on research found that as long as you are not changing the flavour a huge amount, like menthol to tobacco, as some flavours will remain in the wick.

You can give the clearo a little rinse with a ml of vodka, put vodka in and screw drip tip back on and shake.
Set on kitchen roll upside down for an hour, blow through the clearo onto kitchen roll to clear centre post then dry burn (couple of quick starts without liquid)
Refill and after 5/10 puffs the new flavour should come through... I've still got a disposable clearo, like your ones, and I have done this many times but they are disposable as the coil will eventually go :D

it really depends how long the atomzier can last, no one knows it, but I think 3 monthes is minimum if you do not vape a lots.

You can order some liquid samples to try the flavor out. some flavor may suits one person, but may not good for you as we have different preferrence.I will recommend you order sample pack or buy some bottles like 10ml. select the best flavors you like to try.

Thx Gilliandrea, I am at the stage of learning to wash!)). Health-E-Vape a supplier of this clearos said it should be washed with distilled water, well, I can use your advise and use some vodka, do I have to place vodka in with a syringe?? Well there is another probs arise: gurgling. They say if your clearomiser is producing this babbly sound it is time either to wash or to replace. Is it true?? I also feel a sort of liquid taste in the mouth while vaping - is it dangerous? I have ordered another type VIVI clearomiser maybe the new construction will work better.

You can use a syringe, especially if your wick looks quite discoloured, I just pour in from a dripper bottle up to the 1ml mark.

Gurgling can happen if the clearo wick has flooded, I normally take the clearo off the battery and hold a tissue to the bottom and blow through, this takes away the excess that has settled at the wick and will also stop the e-liquid coming up the drip tip too... ;) Only when they stop working altogether would I replace or re-coil, depends on what your using. Vivi's are good I use both large and small, another thread around here with pictures, I'll try to find the link :D
It is not good getting a small bit of eliquid in your mouth but not dangerous (then only if you drank a full bottle)

EDIT: This is thread, shows ego batteries with various tanks

How I have not noticed it before - you are from Fife, it is the place I "fell in love" with Scotland forever (St Andrews and Cupar). I am originally Russian from Moscow..So I always feel special for people from Fife..Well, how do you store your filled clearomizers if you use a range of different liquids? Top side up? How many batteries are enough for the beginner - I have just two but seems they last forever. It should not be kept for long though? Why "Coffee deluxe" which I poured in washed up with vodka clearo (thx to your advice) tastes as a burnt sunflower seeds? How to choose a good quality liquid? Could you please share your experience. Thx.

Hi @Oli I made a vape gear stand for all my clearo's, tanks (so they stand upright) and batteries etc, vaping has become my hobby!!
As a heavy smoker (30 a day) I make my own e-liquids and I have at least 6 on the go at any one time, love having the option for change :D
I think it would take weeks for any e-liquid to go off, even in a clearo, some of my e-liquid are a couple of months...

It is all personal choice, you choose where you want to take your vaping experience, everyone at POTV will help you anyway they can.
I think I have become immersed in vaping I just love the options available to me :D and if I don't like it I can swap or sell on :)

It takes at least 5/10 puffs before the vodka/ new flavour will come through, is the coffee deluxe one you know the flavour of?
I am still hunting for a decent coffee flavour as most do taste burnt to me ;)

PS: Glad you enjoyed Fife, some places are fantastic even for a native :grin2:

Hi Oli regarding the taste you get on the mouthpiece, you do tend to get condensation building up inside the pipe when vaping. I use pipe cleaners to clean them out every now and again. You can get pipe cleaners from Hobby craft £3 for 100. Gilliandrea, I used to live in St Andrews about 30 years ago, loved Fife!!

Thank you Blossom. Maybe you know a good coffee ejuice (we discussed it earlier in this thread, but it is difficult to find a right one, either taste is too weak and evaporates quickly or taste is clearly reminds a burnt seeds)

The coffee I have settled on at the moment is Hangsen's Caramel Macchiato, but still on the look out for that perfect blend @Oli :D

Just going back to flavours making you want to eat - actually, I think the flavours are another positive in comparison to other alternatives to smoking.
Obviously, as you are replacing the experience AND nicotine, the likelihood of increasing you food intake is much lower than cold turkey or NRT.
Secondly, you're not only feeding the nicotine craving, but I think the sweet flavours actually reduce the chance of wanting to eat more. The satisfaction of eating sweet things is largely in the taste, which you have in the e-juice - just without the calories.

Sweet juices had an additional benefit of making the stinkies much less pleasant tasting than the e-cig, so when I had a real cig, I was disappointed it didn't taste nicer.

Regarding ditching the stinkies - most confirmed vapers seem to be off them completely. I have to admit, I'm not - but with a decent kit, I tend to smoke about 4 per day (morning coffee, after lunch & evening meal and a treat later in the evening) - in fact, I'd struggle to smoke more than that (used to be 17-20 per day).

It also seems to have helped break the cig cycle, so even when I can't vape much, I just don't get the urge to smoke as often.

Hanging on to those few cigs is, I'm sure, purely psychological and I do hope to take that final step in the coming weeks. One thing I can do now is comfortably leave the house for a couple of hours knowingly leaving the cigs behind and confident I won't need the reassurance of having them on me. This is a huge achievement for me, having never deliberately done this since I took up smoking nearly 30 years ago.

I know I don't really need the cigs any more - I just have to let go of the security of having them in my life, but happily being out without access to them for hours is a massive step towards letting them go altogether.

Since turning to kit that produces a more satisfying vape, I've just reduced my nic from 18 to 16mg, to avoid overdoing it with the more frequent vaping - hope to drop it more in the coming months.
