I've done my first VG base mix and have combined:
260ml VG, 40ml Gordons Gin and 10 ml of water but the mix still seems thicker than my normal vaping juices (which are mostly PG based) Does anyone else only use VG in their mixes, and if so what and how much do you combine it with to make a reasonable usable vape. I use Vivi Novas quite a lot and so must get this VG base mix to the right viscosity.

Well your Gin and 10 ml of water only equal about 10% of the total mix for "thinning" down the VG, which isn't very much at all considering VG is pretty gloopy in its own right. You might need to bump that up to about 30% of total if you want the VG thinner.

I must have my maths wrong then. 310 Mil in total, so 10% =31ml x 2=62ml 62ml =20% ? am I wrong?

I use pure VG and only thin with the flavouring (20%) and don't have any issues with the vivi nova wicking. I use a 3mm wick on mine which helps.

diy VG is usually sold as 18% water 82% glycerin and requires no further thinning to vape. You will have to tune down your wattage though because pure VG burns easily but not because its not wicking but because theres no PG to act as a buffer and spread out the heat. Pure VG is usually a pretty disappointing vape though, sure theres plumes of vapor but the flavor and throat hit are totally meh.. unless you cant use PG for health reasons there is no good reason to use pure VG.

As you say Hazar I'm finding that a low percentage of PG is working better than pure VG
