Virgin Squonker!

Morning Apes! I am in need of some squonking advice. Last month I got my first RDA after a recommendation from a fellow ape, the VGOD pro. Fast forward to now and I have the Recoil RDA, Dead Rabbit RDA, a Goon RDA, the Troll RTA and the Reload RTA. I am hooked! Loving the RDA's especially the dead rabbit, so the next logical step is to squonk!

Done my research on the forums and ordered myself the lovely resin wasp nano RDA from the vaping guru, picked up a single 18650 S-rabbit mech squonker that was on sale @ 3Fvape and a sony VTC5 battery from fogstar.

My question to you squonkers is, what set up would you recommend for the wasp nano if i like a nice warm vape and what sort of battery should i be expecting out of said build (would i be better off buying an extra battery to keep with me as back up?).

I was originaly going to get the pico, but then i saw someone share the s-rabbit and thought well i ant me a bit of that!

And by set up i meant coil wise, what sort of build, a big build or small build, ohms etc? I have a range of big and small coils from 0.1-0.8 ohms in kanthal or ni80

Have you worked on a mech before mate ? You need to have your ohms law down before you start building on a mech, safety first.

This is my first mech I’ve got, but I understand ohms law and use steam engine website for calculations, I won’t be building any lower than 0.2ohm on the VTC5 battery I have so I know I’m well within the limits of the battery. Was just after recommendations from fellow wasp & mech users so I can build straight away and enjoy without jabbing to faff and experiment with different coil builds and resistances

I don't own 1 yet but a 0.4 or 0.5 ohm ni80 micro coil seems to be a popular build

I concur. I'm currently using 5 wraps 3mm 24g SS flatware (around 0.4ohm) in my wasp nano, on my Drip X. Airflow closed to about a third, and it's a warmish flavourful vape. The 30q easily lasts a shift at work, about a bottle and a half of juice, but I always carry a spare as well.

I might have a dabble with some 22g flatwire, as I like a warm vape too.

Welcome to #mechlife sparky!!

First off, you'd be well advised to check if the brass contact, when it touches the 510 to make a circuit sparks. This will be a bit iffy and need a bit of fiddling and metal bending to make the thing work better and safer. I've had to temporarily bin a boxer clone due to this.
And make sure you swab and polish the metal contact when the device arrives!! A wee swab with metal polish or some isopropyl alcohol will be a good start.

Oh, and check the bottle and cap fit securely so no air escapes twixt the bottle threads s that'll make actual squonking a nightmare.

Now, on tae the Wasp. The wee blighter likes a chunkyish coil. I use flattened 23g Nichrome ( look for Brochrome on Stealthvape!!) and 5/6 wraps with 3mm inner fills the chamber nicely and comes to ~0.35ohms. Nice warm tasty vape.
Did try a fancy fused clapton thingummy, but way too warm for me. Do mind that what i think is finest kind will most likely not be your poke of chips.
But, generally, going by the patter on here, a 0.3-0.4 ohm sizeable coil will be peachy keen.
